Abstract

The present invention is directed to novel polypeptides having sequence identity with IL-17, IL-17 receptors and to nucleic acid molecules encoding those polypeptides. Also provided herein are vectors and host cells comprising those nucleic acid sequences, chimeric polypeptide molecules comprising the polypeptides of the present invention fused to heterologous polypeptide sequences, antibodies which bind to the polypeptides of the present invention and to methods for producing the polypeptides of the present invention. Further provided herein are methods for treating degenerative cartilaginous disorders and other inflammatory diseases.

Claims (35)

1. An isolated polypeptide comprising amino acids 1 to 667 of SEQ ID NO:16.

2. A pharmaceutical composition comprising the polypeptide of claim 1 and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier.

3. A chimeric polypeptide comprising the polypeptide of claim 1 fused to a heterologous polypeptide.

4. The chimeric polypeptide of claim 3 , wherein said heterologous polypeptide is an epitope tag or an Fc region of an immunoglobulin.

5. A pharmaceutical composition comprising the chimeric polypeptide of claim 3 in combination with a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier.

6. An isolated polypeptide comprising amino acids 24 to 667 of SEQ ID NO:16.

7. A pharmaceutical composition comprising the polypeptide of claim 6 and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier.

8. A chimeric polypeptide comprising the polypeptide of claim 6 fused to a heterologous polypeptide.

9. The chimeric polypeptide of claim 8 , wherein said heterologous polypeptide is an epitope tag or an Fc region of an immunoglobulin.

10. A pharmaceutical composition comprising the chimeric polypeptide of claim 8 in combination with a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier.

11. An isolated polypeptide comprising amino acids 1 to 454 of SEQ ID NO:16.

12. A pharmaceutical composition comprising the polypeptide of claim 11 and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier.

13. A chimeric polypeptide comprising the polypeptide of claim 11 fused to a heterologous polypeptide.

14. The chimeric polypeptide of claim 13 , wherein said heterologous polypeptide is an epitope tag or an Fc region of an immunoglobulin.

15. A pharmaceutical composition comprising the chimeric polypeptide of claim 13 in combination with a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier.

16. An isolated polypeptide comprising amino acids 24 to 454 of SEQ ID NO:16.

17. A pharmaceutical composition comprising the polypeptide of claim 16 and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier.

18. A chimeric polypeptide comprising the polypeptide of claim 16 fused to a heterologous polypeptide.

19. The chimeric polypeptide of claim 18 , wherein said heterologous polypeptide is an epitope tag or an Fc region of an immunoglobulin.

20. A pharmaceutical composition comprising the chimeric polypeptide of claim 18 in combination with a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier.

21. An isolated polypeptide comprising the polypeptide encoded by the full-length coding sequence of the cDNA deposited under ATCC accession number PTA-1082.

22. A pharmaceutical composition comprising the polypeptide of claim 21 and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier.

23. A chimeric polypeptide comprising the polypeptide of claim 21 fused to a heterologous polypeptide.

24. The chimeric polypeptide of claim 23 , wherein said heterologous polypeptide is an epitope tag or an Fc region of an immunoglobulin.

25. A pharmaceutical composition comprising the chimeric polypeptide of claim 23 in combination with a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier.

26. An isolated polypeptide consisting of amino acids 1 to 667 of SEQ ID NO:16.

27. A pharmaceutical composition consisting of the polypeptide of claim 26 and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier.

28. An isolated polypeptide consisting of amino acids 24 to 667 of SEQ ID NO:16.

29. A pharmaceutical composition consisting of the polypeptide of claim 28 and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier.

30. An isolated polypeptide consisting of amino acids 1 to 454 of SEQ ID NO:16.

31. A pharmaceutical composition consisting of the polypeptide of claim 30 and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier.

32. An isolated polypeptide consisting of amino acids 24 to 454 of SEQ ID NO:16.

33. A pharmaceutical composition consisting of the polypeptide of claim 32 and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier.

34. An isolated polypeptide consisting of the polypeptide encoded by the full-length coding sequence of the cDNA deposited under ATCC accession number PTA-1082.

35. A pharmaceutical composition consisting of the polypeptide of claim 34 and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier.
