Abstract

A computer facilitates multiple parameters data analysis by special visualization and navigation methods. Data to be analyzed is loaded from an external source the computer displays the data in response to user input using a variety of methods including data tables, slices of data spaces, hierarchically navigated data spaces, dynamic slice tables, filters, sorting, color-mapping, numerical operations, and other methods.

possible ways to depict multi-parameter data with M dimensional data spaces, comprising depicting the index pseudo-dimensions as a data space having three mutually perpendicular axes comprising a time axis and two index pseudo-dimension axes, and depicting dimensions defining geographic coordinates as a time sequence of volumetric data spaces having volumetric dimensions defined by geographic coordinates as axes;

generating, in response to user input selecting higher-order volumetric data space a display output depicting the higher-order volumetric data space having three mutually perpendicular axes comprising a time axis and two index pseudo-dimension axes; and

generating, in response to user input selecting lower-order volumetric data space and a data point along one of the mutually perpendicular index pseudo-dimension axes a display output depicting the lower-order volumetric data space having three mutually perpendicular axes comprising a time axis and two index pseudo-dimension axes.

2. The method of claim 1 , further comprising configuring the two index pseudo-dimension axes with an index of objects axis and an index axis by one of a parameter name or sequential number of object parameter dimensions.

3. The method of claim 1 further comprising constructing the hierarchical relationship between the volumetric data spaces based on matching of parameter types and predefined hierarchical relationships for the parameter types.

4. The method of claim 1 , further comprising displaying 3-dimensional data spaces as axonometric projections, and generating 4 and higher-dimensional display outputs as a set of 3-dimensional axonometric projections.

5. The method of claim 1 , further comprising not displaying a portion of the volumetric data space having values that fall outside of user-defined value interval.

6. The method of claim 1 , further comprising changing an order of data points along the index pseudo-dimension axes for the data trajectories in the multi-dimensional volumetric data spaces to be correlated along the time axis.

7. The method of claim 6 , further comprising rotating the displayed output along a defined line in response to user input.

8. The method of claim 6 , further comprising applying a mathematical transformation defined by a business model requiring a resulting data set with all values equal to zero to one or more volumetric data spaces or their selected sub data sets to generate transformed data sets and visually comparing the resulting transformed data set with a data set having all values equal to zero.

9. The method of claim 8 , wherein applying the mathematical transformation defined by the business model further comprises determining a difference between a forecasted data set and an experimental data set.
