Abstract

A user data transmission method for transmitting uplink user data via an E-DPDCH, including: determining, at a radio network controller, that the mobile station transmitting the E-DPDCH to only a first cell transmits the E-DPDCH to the first cell and a second cell; notifying, at the radio network controller, E-HICH decoding information for decoding a E-HICH for the uplink user data to be transmitted by the second cell, to the mobile station based on the determination; transmitting, at the mobile station, the E-DPDCH to the first cell and the second cell, after the E-HICH decoding information is received; and decoding, at the mobile station, the E-HICH for the uplink user data to be transmitted from the second cell based on the E-HICH decoding information, and performing a retransmission control of the uplink user data toward the second cell based on the decoded E-HICH for the uplink user data.

Claims (15)

1. A user data transmission method for transmitting uplink user data from a mobile station via an enhanced dedicated physical data channel, comprising:

determining, at a radio network controller, that the mobile station transmitting the enhanced dedicated physical data channel to only a first cell shifts to a soft handover state and transmits the enhanced dedicated physical data channel to the first cell and a second cell;

notifying, from the radio network controller to the mobile station, transmission acknowledgement channel decoding information for decoding a transmission acknowledgement channel for the uplink user data to be transmitted by the second cell, based on the determination made at the radio network controller and before the mobile station shifts to the soft handover state;

decoding, at the mobile station, the transmission acknowledgement channel for the uplink user data to be transmitted from the second cell, based on the transmission acknowledgement channel decoding information; and

performing, at the mobile station, a retransmission control of the uplink user data toward the second cell based on the decoded transmission acknowledgement channel for the uplink user data,

the transmission acknowledgement channel decoding information is included in the soft handover setting request transmitted from the radio network controller to the mobile station when the radio network controller determines that the mobile station shifts to the soft handover state.

2. A radio network controller for controlling transmission of uplink user data, from a mobile station via an enhanced dedicated physical data channel, comprising:

a determiner configured to determine that the mobile station transmitting the enhanced dedicated physical data channel to only a first cell shifts to a soft handover state and transmits the enhanced dedicated physical data channel to the first cell and a second cell; and

a notifier configured to notify, to the mobile station, transmission acknowledgement channel decoding information for decoding a transmission acknowledgement channel for the uplink user data to be transmitted by the second cell, based on the determination made at the radio network controller and before the mobile station shifts to the soft handover state,

the transmission acknowledgement channel decoding information is included in the soft handover setting request transmitted from the radio network controller to the mobile station when the radio network controller determines that the mobile station shifts to the soft handover state.

3. A user data transmission method for transmitting uplink user data from a mobile station via an enhanced dedicated physical control channel, comprising:

determining, at a radio network controller, an update of an active set for a mobile station;

notifying, from the radio network controller to the mobile station, transmission acknowledgement channel decoding information for decoding a transmission acknowledgement channel for the uplink user data the transmission acknowledgement channel to be transmitted by a cell included in the updated active set, based on the determination;

decoding, at the mobile station, the transmission acknowledgment channel for the uplink user data to be transmitted from the cell included in the updated active set, based on the transmission acknowledgement channel decoding information; and

performing, at the mobile station, a retransmission control of the uplink user data toward the cell based on the decoded transmission acknowledgement channel for the uplink user data.
