Method for treating psoriasis by administering an antibody to interleukin-6 receptor
A method for treating psoriasis comprising an interleukin-6 (IL-6) antagonist such as, for example, an antibody against IL-6 receptor.
1. A method for treating psoriasis comprising administering an effective amount of an antibody against interleukin-6 (IL-6) receptor to a subject in need thereof, wherein said antibody blocks binding between IL-6 and IL-6 receptor, and blocks signal transduction by IL-6.
2. The method of claim 1 , wherein IL-6 receptor is a human IL-6 receptor.
3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the antibody is a monoclonal antibody.
4. The method of claim 1 , wherein the antibody is a recombinant antibody.
5. The method of claim 1 , wherein the antibody is a humanized antibody.
6. The method of claim 1 , wherein the antibody is a human antibody.
