Abstract

A method for transmitting a sounding reference signal from a user equipment in a MIMO antenna wireless communication system is disclosed. The method comprises receiving sounding reference signal setup information from a base station, the sounding reference signal setup information including an initial cyclic shift value n SRS cs and an initial transmissionComb parameter value k TC ; setting an interval between cyclic shift values corresponding to each antenna port based on the initial cyclic shift value, to reach a maximum interval; setting a transmissionComb parameter value corresponding to a specific one of the antenna ports to a value different from the initial transmissionComb parameter value if the initial cyclic shift value is a previously set value and the number of antenna ports is 4; and transmitting the sounding reference signal to the base station through each antenna port by using the set cyclic shift value and transmissionComb parameter value.

Claims (32)

1. A method for transmitting a sounding reference signal by a user equipment (UE) in a multi-input/multi-output (MIMO) antenna wireless communication system, the method comprising:

receiving, by the UE from a base station (BS), parameters for the sounding reference signal, the parameters including an initial cyclic shift value and an initial transmissionComb value;

determining, by the UE, whether or not the initial cyclic shift value is a first value;

if the initial cyclic shift value is determined to be the first value, setting by the UE a transmissionComb value corresponding to a first MIMO antenna port of two MIMO antenna ports of the UE to the initial transmissionComb value while setting a transmissionComb value corresponding to a second MIMO antenna port of the two MIMO antenna ports to a transmissionComb value different from the initial transmissionComb value; and

transmitting, by the UE to the BS, the sounding reference signal through each of the two MIMO antenna ports by using the set transmissionComb values.

2. The method of claim 1 ,

wherein the step of determining further comprises determining whether or not a number of a plurality of MIMO antenna ports of the UE is a second value; and

wherein the step of setting further comprises setting the transmissionComb value corresponding to the first MIMO antenna port of two MIMO antenna ports to the initial transmissionComb value while setting the transmissionComb value corresponding to the second MIMO antenna port of the two MIMO antenna ports to the transmissionComb value different from the initial transmissionComb value if the number of the plurality of MIMO antenna ports is determined to be the second value.

3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the transmissionComb value different from the initial transmissionComb value is 1 minus the initial transmissionComb value.

4. The method of claim 1 , wherein the two MIMO antenna ports of the UE are two of four MIMO antenna ports.

5. The method of claim 4 , wherein the step of setting comprises:

setting the transmissionComb value corresponding to the first MIMO antenna port and a transmissionComb value corresponding to a third MIMO antenna port of the four MIMO antenna ports to the initial transmissionComb value while setting the transmissionComb value corresponding to the second MIMO antenna port and a transmissionComb value corresponding to a fourth MIMO antenna port of the four MIMO antenna ports to the transmissionComb value different from the initial transmissionComb value.

6. The method of claim 1 ,

wherein the initial transmissionComb value is 0 or 1, and

wherein the initial cyclic shift value is a random integer between 0 and 7.

7. A user equipment (UE) configured to transmit a sounding reference signal in a multi-input/multi-output (MIMO) antenna wireless communication system, the UE comprising:

a processor; and

a memory containing instructions, which when executed by the processor, cause the UE to

receive, from a base station (BS), parameters for the sounding reference signal, the parameters including an initial cyclic shift value and an initial transmissionComb value;

determine whether or not the initial cyclic shift value is a first value;

if the initial cyclic shift value is determined to be the first value, set a transmissionComb value corresponding to a first MIMO antenna port of two MIMO antenna ports of the UE to the initial transmissionComb value while setting a transmissionComb value corresponding to a second MIMO antenna port of the two MIMO antenna ports to a transmissionComb value different from the initial transmissionComb value; and

transmit, to the BS, the sounding reference signal through each of the two MIMO antenna ports by using the set transmissionComb values.

8. The UE of claim 7 , wherein the instructions, which when executed by the processor, further cause the UE to

determine whether or not a number of a plurality of MIMO antenna ports of the UE is a second value; and

set the transmissionComb value corresponding to the first MIMO antenna port of two MIMO antenna ports to the initial transmissionComb value while setting the transmissionComb value corresponding to the second MIMO antenna port of the two MIMO antenna ports to the transmissionComb value different from the initial transmissionComb value if the number of the plurality of MIMO antenna ports is determined to be the second value.

9. The UE of claim 7 , wherein the transmissionComb value different from the initial transmissionComb value is 1 minus the initial transmissionComb value.

10. The UE of claim 7 , wherein the two MIMO antenna ports of the UE are two of four MIMO antenna ports.

11. The UE of claim 10 , wherein the instructions, which when executed by the processor, further cause the UE to:

set the transmissionComb value corresponding to the first MIMO antenna port and a third MIMO antenna port of the four MIMO antenna ports to the initial transmissionComb value while setting the transmissionComb value corresponding to the second MIMO antenna port and a fourth MIMO antenna port of the four MIMO antenna ports to the transmissionComb value different from the initial transmissionComb value.

12. The UE of claim 7 ,

wherein the initial transmissionComb value is 0 or 1, and

wherein the initial cyclic shift value is a random integer between 0 and 7.
