Abstract

In at least one embodiment, a system for presenting athletic performance information includes a server configured to store information related to a previous traversal of a route by a user, and a mobile device in communication with the server, the mobile device configured to receive the information related to the previous traversal of the route by the user from the server, and present athletic performance information based at least in part on the information related to the previous traversal of the route to the user during a subsequent traversal of the route.

Claims (42)

1. A system for presenting athletic performance information, comprising:

a server configured to store information related to a previous traversal of a route by a user, including information about the location of the route; and

a mobile device in communication with said server, said mobile device configured to receive the information related to the previous traversal of the route by the user from said server, determine that the route is being traversed again, and present athletic performance information based at least in part on the information related to the previous traversal of the route to the user during a subsequent traversal of the route.

2. The system of claim 1 , wherein said mobile device is configured to determine the athletic performance information by reference to the information related to the previous traversal of the route.

3. The system of claim 1 , wherein the athletic performance information determined by the mobile device is based on a comparison between the information related to the previous traversal of the route and information related to the subsequent traversal of the route.

4. The system of claim 1 , wherein said mobile device and said server communicate wirelessly.

5. The system of claim 1 , wherein the information related to the previous traversal of the route by the user comprises split time information.

6. The system of claim 1 , wherein the information related to the previous traversal of the route by the user comprises distance information.

7. The system of claim 1 , wherein the information related to the previous traversal of the route by the user comprises pace information.

8. The system of claim 1 , wherein the information related to the previous traversal of the route by the user comprises heart rate information.

9. The system of claim 1 , wherein the information related to the previous traversal of the route by the user comprises speed information.

10. The system of claim 1 , wherein the athletic performance information determined by the mobile device relates to the speed of the user.

11. The system of claim 1 , wherein the athletic performance information determined by the mobile device relates to the distance traveled by the user.

12. The system of claim 1 , wherein the athletic performance information determined by the mobile device relates to the pace of the user.

13. The system of claim 1 , wherein the athletic performance information determined by the mobile device relates to the heart rate of the user.

14. The system of claim 1 , wherein the athletic performance information determined by the mobile device relates to split time information.

15. The system of claim 1 , wherein the athletic performance information presented to the user during the subsequent traversal of the route comprises comparative split time information.

16. The system of claim 1 , wherein the athletic performance information presented to the user during the subsequent traversal of the route comprises comparative pace information.

17. The system of claim 1 , wherein the athletic performance information presented to the user during the subsequent traversal of the route comprises comparative heart rate information.

18. The system of claim 1 , wherein the athletic performance information presented to the user during the subsequent traversal of the route comprises comparative speed information.

19. The system of claim 1 , wherein the athletic performance information presented to the user during the subsequent traversal of the route comprises comparative distance information.

20. The system of claim 1 , wherein the athletic performance information is audibly presented.

21. The system of claim 1 , wherein the athletic performance information is visually presented.

22. A system for presenting athletic performance information, comprising:

a server configured to store information related to a previous traversal of a route by a user, including information about the location of the route; and

a mobile device in communication with said server, said mobile device configured to receive the information related to the previous traversal of the route by the user from said server, to receive an indication that the route is being traversed by the user again from said server, and to present athletic performance information to the user during a subsequent traversal of the route based at least in part on the information related to the previous traversal of the route and the indication that the route is being traversed by the user again.

23. A method, comprising:

a server storing information related to a previous traversal of a route by a user, including information about the location of the route;

said server transmitting the information related to the previous traversal of the route by the user, including the information about the location of the route, for determination that the route is being traversed again and for presentation of athletic performance information based at least in part on the information related to the previous traversal of the route to the user during a subsequent traversal of the route.

24. The method of claim 23 , farther comprising the step of presenting the athletic performance information to the user during a subsequent traversal of the route.

25. The method of claim 24 , wherein the step of presenting the athletic performance information comprises audible presentation.

26. The method of claim 24 , wherein the step of presenting the athletic performance information comprises visual presentation.

27. The method of claim 24 , wherein the step of presenting the athletic performance information comprises alerting the user of a time differential at a split distance of the previous traversal of the route and the subsequent traversal of the route.

28. The method of claim 23 , wherein the athletic performance information is based on a comparison between the information related to the previous traversal of the route and information related to the subsequent traversal of the route.

29. The method of claim 23 , wherein the athletic performance information comprises comparative split time information.

30. The method of claim 23 , wherein the athletic performance information comprises comparative pace information.

31. The method of claim 23 , wherein the athletic performance information comprises comparative heart rate information.

32. The method of claim 23 , wherein the athletic performance information comprises comparative speed information.

33. The method of claim 23 , wherein the athletic performance information comprises comparative distance information.

34. The system of claim 22 , wherein the athletic performance information determined by the mobile device is based on a comparison between the information related to the previous traversal of the route and information related to the subsequent traversal of the route.

35. The system of claim 22 , wherein the server is further configured to determine that the route is being traversed by the user again.

36. The system of claim 22 , wherein said mobile device is configured to determine the athletic performance information by reference to the information related to the previous traversal of the route.
