Abstract

A system, method and computer program product for arranging digital data in a file in an apparatus-implemented system, is disclosed. One or more pages are generated, where each page includes: i. a mode field containing a camera operation mode, ii. an image data field containing image data, iii. an offset field containing an offset to a next page in the file, and a total size field containing a page size. Each page is recorded in the file using the same format.

Claims (25)

1. An image processing apparatus for processing an image file, the image processing apparatus comprising:

a storing unit configured to store a plurality of frame images, a plurality of attribute information in Exchangeable image file format (EXIF) corresponding to each of the frame images, and a plurality of offset data to determine a storing position of each frame image of the image file, in one image file;

an image display controlling unit configured to display an image, in an image display area, of any one of the plurality of frame images stored in the image file; and

an attribute display controlling unit configured to display, in an attribute display area corresponding to the image display area, the attribute information associated with the frame image displayed in the image display area,

wherein (i) the image display controlling unit switches the frame image displayed in the image display area to an image of another one of the plurality of frame images according to the offset data and (ii) the attribute display controlling unit switches the attribute information to be displayed in the attribute display area to attribute information corresponding to the another one of the plurality of frame images, in response to receiving an instruction to switch the frame image displayed in the image display area to an image of another one of the plurality of frame images stored in the image file.

The image processing apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein there are displayed in the image display area (a) a number display area to display a number of the frame images stored in the image file and (b) a button for giving an instruction for switching the frame image displayed in the image display area to an image of another one of the plurality of frame images stored in the image file.

3. The image processing apparatus according to claim 2 , wherein image data corresponding to a plurality of image files can be displayed in multi-display with a plurality of image display areas and the number display area is provided to each of the plurality of image display areas.

4. The image processing apparatus according to claim 2 , wherein image data corresponding to a plurality of image files can be displayed in multi-display with a plurality of image display areas and the button is provided to each of the plurality of image display areas.

5. The image processing apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the plurality of frame images are a plurality of still images, and

wherein the image processing apparatus further comprises a generation unit to generate a motion image file from the plurality of still images.

6. An image processing method of processing an image file, the method comprising:

a storing step of storing a plurality of frame images, a plurality of attribute information in Exchangeable image file format (EXIF) corresponding to each of the frame images, and a plurality of offset data to determine a storing position of each frame image of the image file, in one image file;

an image display controlling step of displaying an image, in an image display area, of any one of the plurality of frame images stored in the image file; and

an attribute display controlling step of displaying, in an attribute display area corresponding to the image display area, the attribute information associated with the frame image displayed in the image display area,

wherein (i) the image display controlling step switches the frame image displayed in the image display area to an image of another one of the plurality of frame images according to the offset data and (ii) the attribute display controlling step switches the attribute information to be displayed in the attribute display area to attribute information corresponding to the another one of the plurality of frame images, in response to receiving an instruction to switch the frame image displayed in the image display area to an image of another one of the plurality of frame images stored in the image file.

The image processing method according to claim 6 , wherein there are displayed in the image display area (a) a number display area to display a number of the frame images stored in the image file and (b) a button for giving an instruction for switching the frame image displayed in the image display area to an image of another one of the plurality of frame images stored in the image file.

8. The image processing method according to claim 7 , wherein image data corresponding to a plurality of image files can be displayed in multi-display with a plurality of image display areas and the number display area is provided to each of the plurality of image display areas.

9. The image processing method according to claim 7 , wherein image data corresponding to a plurality of image files can be displayed in multi-display with a plurality of image display areas and the button is provided to each of the plurality of image display areas.

10. The image processing method according to claim 6 , wherein the plurality of frame images are a plurality of still images, and

wherein the image processing method further comprises a generation step of generating a motion image file from the plurality of still images.

11. A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing code for instructing a computer to perform an image processing method of processing an image file, the method comprising:

a storing step of storing a plurality of frame images, a plurality of attribute information in Exchangeable image file format (EXIF) corresponding to each of the frame images, and a plurality of offset data to determine a storing position of each frame image of the image file, in one image file;

an image display controlling step of displaying an image, in an image display area, of any one of the plurality of frame images stored in the image file; and

an attribute display controlling step of displaying, in an attribute display area corresponding to the image display area, the attribute information associated with the frame image displayed in the image display area,

wherein (i) the image display controlling step switches the frame image displayed in the image display area to an image of another one of the plurality of frame images according to the offset data and (ii) the attribute display controlling step switches the attribute information to be displayed in the attribute display area to attribute information corresponding to the another one of the plurality of frame images, in response to receiving an instruction to switch the frame image displayed in the image display area to an image of another one of the plurality of frame images stored in the image file.
