Drop-in anchor
A drop-in anchor includes a tubular sleeve having a first end and an expandable second end, the sleeve including one or more indicator surfaces offset from the first end along a sleeve axis of the sleeve. A plug is insertable in the sleeve such that when the plug is driven into an installed position in the sleeve, the second end expands and an installation tool interacts with the first end to provide a visual indication, due to contrast in appearance with the one or more indicator surfaces, of engagement of the drop-in anchor to a workpiece.
1. A drop-in anchor comprising:
a tubular sleeve having a first end and an expandable second end, the sleeve including one or more indicator surfaces offset from the first end along a sleeve axis of the sleeve; and
a plug insertable in the sleeve such that when the plug is driven into an installed position in the sleeve, the second end expands and an installation tool interacts with the first end to provide a visual indication, due to contrast in appearance with the one or more indicator surfaces, of engagement of the drop-in anchor to a workpiece;
wherein the visual indication is an at least partial removal of a coating from the first end.
2. The drop-in anchor of claim 1 , wherein the coating is a paint.
3. The drop-in anchor of claim 2 , wherein the paint is a shade of blue.
4. The drop-in anchor of claim 1 , wherein the coating is applied to the sleeve at a time of manufacture of the sleeve.
5. The drop-in anchor of claim 1 , wherein the one or more indicator surfaces are one or more bases of one or more slits extending from the first end toward the second end.
6. The drop-in anchor of claim 5 , wherein the one or more slits are four slits.
7. The drop-in anchor of claim 1 , wherein the one or more indicator surfaces are one or more recessed rings.
8. The drop-in anchor of claim 1 , wherein the one or more indicator surfaces are one or more recessed shoulders.
