Abstract

A profit redistribution device, profit redistribution method, program storage medium, profit redistribution system, content providing device, content providing method, program storage media, and content providing system are disclosed. Profit redistribution processing is performed according to the accumulated points proportionate to the number of times the content with a commercial video is provided to a client PC. Thus, a fair profit redistribution can be easily performed. A preset content with a commercial video is provided to a user when requested from the client PC, and it is possible to provide advertisement information without the user being aware of the commercial.

Claims (57)

1. A content providing apparatus, comprising:

a communicator configured to receive authentication information from a first device identifying a user of the first device; and

a control unit configured to

determine that the user of the first device is a registered user, and

authenticate the user of the first device based on the authentication information,

wherein the communicator receives, from the first device, content and a content genre selection of an online menu by the user of the first device, and

wherein the communicator provides the content to a second device over a network in response to a selection of a channel name related to the content by a user of the second device.

2. The content providing apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein said control unit is configured to control the communicator to receive a predetermined category related to the content, and

to provide web data which represents the channel name related to said predetermined category when a demand for said predetermined category is received from the second device.

3. The content providing apparatus according to claim 1 , further comprising:

a storage unit configured to store a schedule database according to a time frame set up.

4. The content providing apparatus according to claim 3 , wherein said storage unit stores the schedule database in response to a reservation from the first processing device.

5. The content providing apparatus according to claim 4 , wherein said reservation has an upper limit on a number of contents provided at one scheduled time.

6. The content providing apparatus according to claim 5 , wherein the control unit is configured to provide a message that indicates that the contents cannot be provided at said one scheduled time if the number of said contents to be provided at said one scheduled time reaches said upper limit.

7. A method comprising:

receiving, at a communicator, authentication information from a device, the authentication information identifying a user of the first device;

determining, in a control unit, that the user of the first device is a registered user; and

authenticating, in the control unit, the user of the first device based on the authentication information,

wherein the communicator receives, from the first device, content and a content genre selection of an online menu by the user of the first device, and

wherein the communicator provides the content to a second device over a network in response to a selection of a channel name related to the content by a user of the second device.

8. The method of claim 7 , further comprising:

controlling the communicator to receive a predetermined category related to the content; and

providing web data which represents the channel name related to said predetermined category when a demand for said predetermined category is received from the second information processing device.

9. The method of claim 7 , further comprising:

storing a schedule database according to a time frame set up.

10. The method of claim 9 , wherein the storing includes storing the schedule database in response to a reservation from the first processing device.

11. The method according to claim 10 , wherein said reservation has an upper limit on a number of contents provided at one scheduled time.

12. The method according to claim 11 , further comprising:

providing a message that indicates that the contents cannot be provided at said one scheduled time if the number of said contents to be provided at said one scheduled time reaches said upper limit.

13. A non-transitory computer readable storage medium encoded with instructions, which when executed by a content providing apparatus, causes the content providing apparatus to execute a method comprising:

receiving, at a communicator, authentication information from a device, the authentication information identifying a user of the first device;

determining, in a control unit, that the user of the first device is a registered user; and

authenticating, in the control unit, the user of the first device based on the authentication information,

wherein the communicator receives, from the first device, content and a content genre selection of an online menu by the user of the first device, and

wherein the communicator provides the content to a second device over a network in response to a selection of a channel name related to the content by a user of the second device.

14. The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 13 , wherein the method further comprises:

controlling the communicator to receive a predetermined category related to the content; and

providing web data which represents the channel name related to said predetermined category when a demand for said predetermined category is received from the second information processing device.

15. The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 13 , wherein the method further comprises:

storing a schedule database according to a time frame set up.

16. The non-transitory computer readable storage medium of claim 15 , wherein the storing includes storing the schedule database in response to a reservation from the first processing device.

17. The non-transitory computer readable storage medium of claim 16 , wherein said reservation has an upper limit on a number of contents provided at one scheduled time.

18. The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 17 , wherein the method further comprises:

providing a message that indicates that the contents cannot be provided at said one scheduled time if the number of said contents to be provided at said one scheduled time reaches said upper limit.

19. A system, comprising:

a content providing apparatus;

a first device communicatively coupled to the content providing apparatus over a network;

a second device communicatively coupled to the content providing apparatus over a network,

wherein the content providing apparatus includes,

a communicator configured to receive authentication information from a first device, the authentication information identifying a user of the first device, and

a control unit configured to

determine that the user of the first device is a registered user, and

authenticate the user of the first device based on the authentication information,

wherein the communicator receives, from the first device, content and a content genre selection of an online menu by the user of the first device, and

wherein the communicator provides the content to a second device over a network in response to a selection of a channel name related to the content by a user of the second device.

20. The content providing apparatus according to claim 19 , wherein said control unit is configured to control the communicator to receive a predetermined category related to the content, and

to provide web data which represents the channel name related to said predetermined category when a demand for said predetermined category is received from the second device.
