Abstract

The present application describes a product dispenser. The product dispenser may include at least one macro-ingredient source, at least one micro-ingredient source positioned about the dispenser, a diluent source, a dispensing valve, a number of pumps or metering devices, and a user interface. The user interface receives a request for a product type and instructs the pumps or metering devices to dispense a predetermined type and ratio of macro-ingredients, micro-ingredients, and diluent to the dispensing valve for a predetermined flow rate.

Claims (52)

1. A beverage dispenser system, comprising:

a plurality of micro-ingredient sources;

a dispensing nozzle;

a plurality of metering devices positioned between the plurality of micro-ingredient sources and the dispensing nozzle;

a user interface adapted to receive a request for a beverage; and

a control device adapted to instruct, in response to the request for the beverage, the plurality of metering devices to dispense a plurality of micro-ingredients to the dispensing nozzle in appropriate proportions for a given flow rate of the beverage.

2. The beverage dispenser system of claim 1 , further comprising:

a sweetener source;

a sweetener pump or metering device positioned between the sweetener source and the dispensing nozzle,

wherein the control device is further adapted to instruct, in response to the request for the beverage, the sweetener pump or metering device to dispense a sweetener to the dispensing nozzle in an appropriate proportion for the given flow rate of the beverage.

3. The beverage dispensing system of claim 2 , wherein the sweetener source is a micro-ingredient sweetener source.

4. The beverage dispensing system of claim 3 , wherein the micro-ingredient sweetener source is a high potency sweetener source.

5. The beverage dispensing system of claim 2 , wherein the sweetener source is a macro-ingredient sweetener source.

6. The beverage dispensing system of claim 5 , wherein the macro-ingredient sweetener source is selected from the group consisting of a sugar syrup source, high fructose corn syrup source, and other type of macro-ingredient sweetener source.

7. The beverage dispensing system of claim 1 , further comprising:

a micro-ingredient sweetener source;

a micro-ingredient sweetener metering device positioned between the micro-ingredient sweetener source and the dispensing nozzle;

a macro-ingredient sweetener source;

a macro-ingredient sweetener pump device positioned between the macro-ingredient sweetener source and the dispensing nozzle.

8. The beverage dispensing system of claim 7 , wherein the control device is further adapted to instruct, in response to the request for the beverage, the micro-ingredient metering device or the macro-ingredient pump device to dispense a micro-ingredient sweetener or a macro-ingredient sweetener to the dispensing nozzle in an appropriate proportion for the given flow rate of the beverage.

9. The beverage dispensing system of claim 1 , wherein the control device is adapted to instruct, in response to the request for the beverage, the plurality of metering devices to dispense the plurality of micro-ingredients to the dispensing nozzle in appropriate proportions for a given flow rate of the beverage during a continuous pour of the beverage.

10. The beverage dispensing system of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of micro-ingredient sources includes non-sweetened concentrated flavorings for the beverage.

11. The beverage dispensing system of claim 10 , wherein the plurality of micro-ingredients include separated acid and non-acid components of the non-sweetened concentrated flavorings.

12. The beverage dispensing system of claim 10 , wherein the plurality of micro-ingredient sources further include one or more sources selected from the group of sources consisting of a color source, a vitamin source, a mineral source, an herbal extract source, a nutraceutical source, a pharmaceutical source, and a functional additive source.

13. A beverage dispenser system, comprising:

a plurality of beverage flavoring sources;

a micro-ingredient sweetener source;

a macro-ingredient sweetener source;

a dispensing nozzle;

a micro-ingredient sweetener metering device positioned between the micro-ingredient sweetener source and the dispensing nozzle;

a macro-ingredient sweetener pump device positioned between the macro-ingredient sweetener source and the dispensing nozzle;

a plurality of beverage flavoring metering devices positioned between the plurality of beverage flavoring sources and the dispensing nozzle;

a user interface adapted to receive a request for a beverage; and

a control device adapted to instruct, in response to the request for the beverage, one or more of the beverage flavoring metering devices and the micro-ingredient sweetener metering device or the macro-ingredient pump device to dispense one or more beverage flavorings and a micro-ingredient sweetener or a macro-ingredient sweetener to the dispensing nozzle in appropriate proportions for a given flow rate of the beverage.

14. The beverage dispensing system of claim 13 , wherein the beverage flavoring sources include non-sweetened concentrated flavorings for the beverage.

15. The beverage dispensing system of claim 14 , wherein the beverage flavoring sources include separated acid and non-acid components of the non-sweetened concentrated flavorings.

16. The beverage dispensing system of claim 13 , wherein the beverage flavoring sources are micro-ingredient beverage flavoring sources.

17. The beverage dispensing system of claim 13 , wherein the micro-ingredient sweetener source is a high potency sweetener source.

18. The beverage dispensing system of claim 17 , wherein the macro-ingredient sweetener source is selected from the group consisting of a sugar syrup source, high fructose corn syrup source, and other type of macro-ingredient sweetener source.

19. The beverage dispensing system of claim 13 , further comprising a beverage micro-ingredient source selected from the group of sources consisting of a color source, a vitamin source, a mineral source, an herbal extract source, a nutraceutical source, a pharmaceutical source, and a functional additive source.

20. A beverage dispenser system, comprising:

a plurality of beverage flavoring sources;

a micro-ingredient sweetener source;

a dispensing nozzle;

a micro-ingredient sweetener metering device positioned between the micro-ingredient sweetener source and the dispensing nozzle;

a plurality of beverage flavoring metering devices positioned between the plurality of beverage flavoring sources and the dispensing nozzle;
