Abstract

An information communication method that obtains information from a subject includes setting an exposure time of an image sensor that, in an image obtained, a bright line corresponding to each of a plurality of exposure lines included in the image sensor appears, according to a change in luminance of the subject. A bright line image, in which the bright line is shown along with surroundings of the subject, is obtained by starting exposure of each of the exposure lines included in the image sensor at a sequentially different time. The bright line image is displayed and information is obtained when, in the bright line image, a part corresponding to the bright line is tapped, by demodulating data specified by a direction generally perpendicular to the exposure line in a pattern of the bright line corresponding to the tapped part.

Claims (21)

1. An information communication method of obtaining information from a subject, the information communication method comprising:

setting an exposure time of an image sensor so that, in an image obtained by capturing the subject by the image sensor, a bright line corresponding to each of a plurality of exposure lines included in the image sensor appears, according to a change in luminance of the subject;

obtaining a bright line image in which the bright line is shown along with surroundings of the subject, by starting exposure of each of the exposure lines included in the image sensor at a sequentially different time, by starting exposure of a next one of the exposure lines before exposure of a current one of the exposure lines is completed, and by capturing the subject that changes in luminance with a set exposure time;

displaying the bright line image in which the bright line is shown along with the surroundings of the subject; and

obtaining information, when, in the bright line image, a part corresponding to the bright line is tapped by a user, by demodulating data specified by a direction generally perpendicular to the exposure line in a pattern of the bright line corresponding to the tapped part.

2. The information communication method according to claim 1 ,

wherein, in the displaying of the bright line image, the bright line image is displayed along with the surroundings of the subject, in a form that enables identification of a spatial position of the part corresponding to the bright line instead of the bright line.

3. The information communication method according to claim 1 ,

wherein, in the obtaining of the information, when the part corresponding to the bright line is tapped by the user, the tapped part is enlarged by an optical zoom.

4. The information communication method according to claim 1 ,

wherein the set exposure time is shorter than an exposure time when normal imaging is performed using the image sensor.

5. An information communication device that obtains information from a subject, the information communication device comprising:

an exposure time setter configured to set an exposure time of an image sensor so that, in an image obtained by capturing the subject by the image sensor, a bright line corresponding to each of a plurality of exposure lines included in the image sensor appears according to a change in luminance of the subject;

a bright line image obtainer configured to obtain a bright line image in which the bright line is shown along with surroundings of the subject, by starting exposure of each of the exposure lines included in the image sensor at a sequentially different time, by starting exposure of a next one of the exposure lines before exposure of one of the exposure lines is completed, and by capturing the subject that changes in luminance with a set exposure time;

an image display configured to display the bright line image in which the bright line is shown along with the surroundings of the subject; and

an information obtainer configured to obtain information, when, in the bright line image, a part corresponding to the bright line is tapped by a user, by demodulating data specified by a direction generally perpendicular to the exposure line in a pattern of the bright line corresponding to the tapped part.

6. A non-transitory computer-readable recording medium storing a program for controlling an information communication device that obtains information from a subject, the program causing a computer to execute:

setting an exposure time of an image sensor so that, in an image obtained by capturing the subject by the image sensor, a bright line corresponding to each of a plurality of exposure lines included in the image sensor appears, according to a change in luminance of the subject;

obtaining a bright line image in which the bright line is shown along with surroundings of the subject, by starting exposure of each of the exposure lines included in the image sensor at a sequentially different time, by starting exposure of a next one of the exposure lines before exposure of one of the exposure lines is completed, and by capturing the subject that changes in luminance with a set exposure time;

displaying the bright line image in which the bright line is shown along with the surroundings of the subject; and

obtaining information, when, in the bright line image, a part corresponding to the bright line is tapped by a user, by demodulating data specified by a direction generally perpendicular to the exposure line in a pattern of the bright line corresponding to the tapped part.
