Abstract

A memory system is constituted of a file storage flash memory storing a control program required for a control portion and a large amount of data, and a random access memory storing a program used by the control portion and functioning as a buffer memory for received data. Thus, a memory system for a portable telephone capable of storing a large amount of received data at high-speed and allowing reading of the stored data at high-speed is provided.

Claims (17)

1. A mobile apparatus comprising:

a NAND flash memory;

a volatile memory;

a processing unit comprising a logical processing function unit, a wireless communication function unit, an image processing function unit, and an audio processing function unit;

an audio output unit; and

a display,

wherein the NAND flash memory is used for storing a data and a program for the logical processing function unit,

the logical processing function unit executes the program through fetching from the volatile memory, to which the program is transferred from the NAND flash memory before executed by the logical processing function unit, for controlling the wireless communication function unit, the image processing function unit, and the audio processing function unit,

the wireless communication function unit receives data via a radio frequency network, and outputs the data to the NAND flash memory for storing thereinto,

the image processing function unit receives the data stored in the NAND flash memory, expands the data as an image data, and outputs the image data to the display, and

the audio processing function unit receives the data stored in the NAND flash memory, decodes the data as an audio data, and outputs the audio data to the audio output unit.

2. A mobile apparatus according to claim 1 ,

wherein the data received from the radio frequency network is data of a compressed format and is stored into the NAND flash memory by the compressed format.

3. A mobile apparatus according to claim 2 ,

wherein the program stored in the NAND flash memory comprises an operating system program and an application program for the mobile apparatus thereof.

4. A mobile apparatus according to claim 3 , further comprising a second nonvolatile memory used for storing a boot program executed in a power on period.

5. A mobile apparatus according to claim 4 , wherein the boot program includes a transferring step that the operating system program is transferred from the NAND flash memory to the volatile memory.
