Abstract

A radio communication system including mobile terminals and plural base stations each of which communicates with mobile terminals existing in a subordinate cell. Each of the base stations includes an interference power measurement portion which measures a total interference power received from mobile terminals existing in adjacent cells; an interference reduction request portion which issues a request to reduce interference to base stations of the adjacent cells based on the total interference power; and a control portion which notifies mobile terminals existing in a subordinate cell of transmission power control information when the request to reduce interference is received from a base station of an adjacent cell, so as to reduce the interference. Each of the mobile terminals includes a reception portion which receives the transmission power control information from the base station that is requested to reduce the interference from the base station of the adjacent cell.

Claims (23)

1. A radio communication system, comprising:

mobile terminals and plural base stations each of which communicates with mobile terminals existing in a subordinate cell, wherein

each of the base stations includes:

an interference power measurement portion which measures a total interference power received from mobile terminals existing in adjacent cells;

a comparison portion which compares the total interference power with a preset value;

an interference reduction request portion which issues a request to reduce interference to base stations of the adjacent cells based on a result of the comparison; and

a control portion which notifies mobile terminals existing in a subordinate cell of transmission power control information when said request to reduce interference is received from a base station of an adjacent cell, so as to reduce the interference, and

each of the mobile terminals includes a reception portion which receives said transmission power control information from said base station that is requested to reduce the interference from the base station of the adjacent cell and reduces a transmission power when said transmission power control information is received.

The radio communication system according to claim 1 , wherein each of the base stations further includes an interference mobile terminal discrimination portion which discriminates mobile terminals having concern with the interference to the base station of the adjacent cell which has issued said request and said control portion notifies the discriminated mobile terminals of the transmission power control information so as to reduce the interference.

3. An interference reduction method for a radio communication system having plural base stations each of which communicates with mobile terminals existing in a subordinate cell respectively, comprising:

acquiring, in each base station, a total interference power received from mobile terminals existing in adjacent cells;

comparing the total interference power with a preset value;

issuing a request to reduce interference to base stations of the adjacent cells from each base station based on a result of the comparison;

notifying, when the base station of the adjacent cell receives said request, mobile terminals existing in said adjacent cell of transmission power control information which is for controlling the transmission power of the mobile terminals so as to reduce the interference; and

receiving, in each mobile terminal existing in said adjacent cell, said transmission power control information and reducing the transmission power of the mobile terminal based on the transmission power control information.

4. The interference reduction method according to claim 3 , wherein the notifying includes:

discriminating mobile terminals having concern with the interference to a base station of an adjacent cell which has issued said request; and

notifying the discriminated mobile terminals of said transmission power control information so as to reduce the interference.

5. A base station in a radio communication system comprising plural base stations each of which communicates with mobile terminals existing in a subordinate cell, the base station comprising:

an interference power measurement portion which measures a total interference power received from mobile terminals existing in adjacent cells;

a comparison portion which compares the total interference power with a preset value;

an interference reduction request portion which issues a request to reduce interference to base stations of the adjacent cells based on a result of the comparison; and

a control portion which notifies mobile terminals existing in a subordinate cell of transmission power control information when said request to reduce interference is received from a base station of an adjacent cell, so as to reduce the transmission power of the mobile terminals.
