Abstract

The present application describes a composition for blood glucose control containing green tea extracts (GTE) with gallated catechins (GC) and macromolecule to prevent the intestinal absorption of GC.

Claims (4)

1. A method for lowering blood glucose level in a human subject in need of lowering blood glucose level, comprising administering to the human subject a composition containing green tea extracts (GTE) with gallated catechins (GC) and a macromolecule to prevent the intestinal absorption of GC, wherein the macromolecule is polyethylene glycol (PEG), PEG-alkyl, PEG-dialkyl, PEG-ester, PEG-diester, PEG copolymer, methoxy PEG (mPEG) or polypropylene glycol (PPG).

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the GC comprises at least one of epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) or epicatechin gallate (ECG).

3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the macromolecule has a molecular weight of 1,000-2,000,000 daltons.

4. The method of claim 3 , wherein the macromolecule has a molecular weight of 1,000-50,000 daltons.
