Abstract

A network apparatus for use in a wireless time division duplex (TDD) code division multiple access communication system includes a processor configured to allocate a time slot in a frame for a plurality of cells for transmission of data over a forward access channel (FACH). Each of the plurality of cells is allocated a different time slot in the frame for transmission of the data over the FACH.

Claims (14)

1. A base station comprising:

circuitry configured to transmit a physical broadcast channel in predetermined time slots in a frame;

wherein the circuitry is further configured to receive interference information for other base stations indicating interference levels associated with its wireless transmit/receive units (WTRUs); wherein particular neighboring base stations having high interference are identified based on the received interference information; and

wherein the circuitry is further configured to schedule its WTRUs to receive dedicated transmissions in the predetermined time slots in response to the interference levels.

2. The base station of claim 1 wherein the base station transmits using time division duplex (TDD).

3. A method for use by a base station comprising:

transmitting, by the base station, a physical broadcast channel in predetermined time slots in a frame;

receiving, by the base station, interference information for other base stations indicating interference levels associated with its wireless transmit/receive units (WTRUs); wherein particular neighboring base stations having high interference are identified based on the received interference information; and

scheduling, by the base station, its WTRUs to receive dedicated transmissions in the predetermined time slots in response to the interference levels.

4. The method of claim 3 wherein the base station transmits using time division duplex (TDD).

5. A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) comprising:

circuitry configured to receive a physical broadcast channel in predetermined time slots in a frame;

wherein the circuitry is further configured to receive scheduling information indicating that the WTRU is to receive a dedicated transmission in the predetermined time slots; wherein the scheduling information is derived for interference information from other base stations indicating interference levels associated with its WTRUs; wherein particular neighboring base stations having high interference are identified based on the received interference information.

6. The WTRU of claim 5 wherein the WTRU receives using time division duplex (TDD).
