Abstract

Systems and methods are disclosed comprising receiving an upstream service signal from a premises. In an aspect, the systems and methods are configured for providing a wireless signal based on the received service signal external to the premises.

Claims (29)

1. A method comprising:

receiving, at a second network device via a wired premises drop line, a first signal comprising an upstream service signal from a first network device that receives a downstream service signal via the wired premises drop line from a service provider, wherein the upstream service signal is based on the downstream service signal;

filtering the upstream service signal from the first signal to limit the upstream service signal from traversing back to the service provider; and

providing a wireless signal based on the upstream service signal via the second network device, wherein the second network device is disposed external to a premises associated with the wired premises drop line.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the upstream service signal is multimedia over coax alliance (MoCA) compatible.

3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the second network device receives electric power via the wired premises drop line.

4. The method of claim 1 , wherein the second network device receives electric power from the service provider.

5. The method of claim 1 , wherein the providing the wireless signal comprises converting the upstream service signal to the wireless signal.

6. The method of claim 1 , wherein the wireless signal facilitates a connection between a network service and a device receiving the wireless signal.

7. The method of claim 1 , wherein the filtering the upstream service signal from the first signal is performed at a bridge.

8. A method comprising:

receiving a service signal at a first network device located at a premises via a wired premises drop line;

generating, by the first network device, a first wireless network at the premises based on at least a first portion of the service signal; and

transmitting, by the first network device, at least a second portion of the service signal upstream via the wired premises drop line to a computing device disposed external to the premises, wherein the computing device facilitates generation of a second wireless network at the computing device based on the at least a second portion of the service signal.

9. The method of claim 8 , wherein the at least the second portion of the service signal is multimedia over coax alliance (MoCA) compatible.

10. The method of claim 8 , wherein the first wireless network is a private network and the second wireless network is a public network.

11. The method of claim 8 , wherein the service signal is received from a service provider disposed remotely from the premises.

12. The method of claim 8 , wherein the generation of the second wireless network comprises converting the at least the second portion of the service signal to a wireless signal.

13. The method of claim 8 , wherein the generation of the second wireless network comprises transmitting a wireless signal via an antenna.

14. The method of claim 13 , wherein the wireless signal facilitates a connection between a network service and a device receiving the wireless signal.

15. The method of claim 8 , further comprising filtering the at least the second portion of the service signal.

16. A method comprising:

receiving, by a first network device, a service signal downstream according to a first specification at a premises via a wired premises drop line;

generating, by the first network device, a first wireless network at the premises based on the service signal; and

transmitting, by the first network device, the service signal upstream according to a second specification via the wired premises drop line to a computing device disposed external to the premises, wherein the computing device generates a second wireless network based on the service signal.

17. The method of claim 16 , wherein one or more of the first specification and the second specification is multimedia over coax alliance (MoCA) compatible.

18. The method of claim 16 , wherein the receiving, by the first network device, the service signal downstream according to the first specification at the premises via the wired premises drop line comprises receiving the service signal from a service provider disposed remotely from the premises.

19. The method of claim 16 , wherein the second wireless network facilitates a connection between a network service and a device receiving a wireless signal from the second wireless network.

20. The method of claim 1 , wherein the first network device is configured to provide a private wireless signal based on the downstream service signal and the second network device is configured to provide a public wireless signal based on the upstream service signal.
