Abstract

An organohalosilane represented by formula I, where R 1 , R 2 , and R 3 independently, at each occurrence, represent —(CH 2 ) x CH 3 where x is an integer from 0 to 5, or a halogen substituent where the halogen is F or Cl, and at least one substituent from R 1 , R 2 , and R 3 is the halogen substituent; R 4 is a C 1 -C 5 alkoxyl or a tertiary amine represented by —NR 5 R 6 , where R 5 and R 6 independently, at each occurrence, represent a same or different C 1 -C 5 alkyl; m is an integer from 1 to 20; and n is an integer from 0 to 5. The organohalosilane is used for preparation of an electrolyte solution of a non-aqueous lithium ion battery.
