Abstract

Generally, smart sensors, logic to process messages from smart sensors, and smart sensor systems are described herein. Embodiments may comprise logic such as hardware and/or code to communicate events as messages via a messaging system to post the messages to a messaging account. The messaging system may be a texting service like Twitter™ that captures the messages and then re-broadcasts the messages, e.g., immediately as a tweet or a cellular text message. In some embodiments, the smart sensor comprises a communications module with a Twitter™ application program interface (API) on a communications platform with a software/hardware framework to interconnect with one or more pluggable monitors with sensors. In other embodiments, the communications module may be integrated with one or more monitors. Further embodiments comprise a smart-device, which can provide status updates and event notifications to a user.

Claims (32)

1. A system comprising:

at least one sensor to produce sensor data;

monitor logic physically coupled with the sensor, the monitor logic to:

detect a sensor event related to movement of a physical object based at least in part on the sensor data; and

generate a multimedia message in response to detection of the sensor event, wherein the multimedia message comprises text and a captured digital image that is captured in response to the sensor event; and

a communication module physically coupled with the monitor logic, the communication module with a cellular network interface to wirelessly communicate with a messaging system to cause transmission of the multimedia message through a cellular network.

2. The system of claim 1 , wherein the multimedia message comprises system data of the system.

3. The system of claim 1 , wherein the system is a cellular phone.

4. The system of claim 1 , wherein the monitor logic is further to generate the text.

5. A method comprising:

generating, by a smart sensor, sensor data via at least one sensor of the smart sensor;

detecting, by the smart sensor, a sensor event related to movement of a physical object based at least in part on the sensor data;

generating, by the smart sensor, a multimedia message in response to the detecting of the sensor event, wherein the multimedia message comprises text and a captured digital image that is captured in response to the sensor event; and

communicating, by a cellular network interface of the smart sensor, with a messaging system to transmit the multimedia message through a cellular network.

6. The method of claim 5 , wherein the multimedia message comprises system data of the system.

7. The method of claim 5 , wherein the smart sensor is a mobile phone.

8. The method of claim 5 , further comprising generating, by the smart sensor, the text.

9. At least one computer-readable storage media having instructions stored thereon that, when executed by an apparatus, cause the apparatus to:

detect a sensor event related to movement of a physical object based at least in part on the sensor data generated by at least one sensor of the apparatus;

generate a multimedia message in response to detection of the sensor event, wherein the multimedia message comprises text and a captured digital image that is captured in response to the sensor event; and

communicate, by a cellular network interface of the apparatus, with a messaging system to cause transmission of the multimedia message through a cellular network.

10. The at least one computer-readable storage media of claim 9 , wherein the multimedia message comprises system data of the apparatus.

11. The at least one computer-readable storage media of claim 9 , wherein the apparatus is a cellular phone.

12. The at least one computer-readable storage media of claim 9 , wherein the instructions are further to generate the text.

13. An apparatus comprising:

at least one sensor;

means for detecting a sensor event related to movement of a physical object based at least in part on the sensor data;

means for generating a multimedia message in response to the detecting of the sensor event, wherein the multimedia message comprises text and a captured digital image that is captured in response to the sensor event; and

means for communicating, through a cellular network interface, with a messaging system to transmit the multimedia message through a cellular.

14. The system of claim 13 , wherein the multimedia message comprises system data of the apparatus.

15. The system of claim 13 , wherein the apparatus is a mobile phone.

16. The system of claim 13 , further comprising means to generate the text.
