Abstract

A display apparatus includes a plurality of first brackets adhered to the rear panel. A first bracket has a recess on a first surface where an adhesive is applied, and a first protrusion extending from a second surface and a second protrusion extending from the first protrusion. A connection bracket has a side wall and a plurality of first tab portions. The tab portion is provided into an opening of the first protrusion. A second bracket is provided adjacent to the plurality of the first brackets and attached to the connection bracket. A frame is mounted to the at least one second bracket. A light source is provided between the frame and the second bracket.

Claims (142)

1. A display apparatus, comprising:

a display panel including a front substrate and a rear substrate;

a frame provided behind the display panel;

a side cover positioned relative to sides of the display panel, the side cover including

a side wall,

a first tab portion extending from a first portion of the side wall in a first direction, and

a second tab portion extending from a second portion of the side wall in a second direction, the second direction being different to the first direction,

the side cover being connected to the frame; and

a back cover provided behind the frame,

a connection side cover which extends in the second direction and is provided between and coupled to edges of the side cover,

wherein the first tab portion is spaced from the second tab portion with a gap at or near a corner of the side cover, and

wherein the first portion of the side wall is connected to the second portion of the side wall at or near the corner of the side cover.

2. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the second direction is substantially perpendicular to the first direction.

3. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein a cover is disposed into or over the gap.

4. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein a resin is disposed into or over the gap.

5. The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the side cover includes:

a first side cover;

a second side cover positioned relative to the first side cover;

a third side cover positioned relative to the first side cover and opposite to the second side cover; and

a fourth side cover positioned relative to the second and third side cover and opposite to the first side cover,

wherein the corner includes:

a first corner located at a bent region where the first and the second side covers meet,

a second corner located at a bent region where the first and the third side coves meet,

a third corner located at a bent region where the second and fourth side covers meet, and

a fourth corner located at a bent region where the third and fourth side covers meet.

The apparatus of claim 5 , wherein the fourth side cover includes a first overhang extending from the second side cover in a parallel direction of the first side cover and a second overhang extending from the third side cover in a parallel direction of the first side cover, the first and second overhangs being separated to form an opening therebetween, wherein the connection side cover is positioned between the first and second overhangs of the fourth side cover.

7. The apparatus of claim 1 , further comprising a hole in each of the corner.

8. The apparatus of claim 7 , wherein the hole is positioned between the gap and the side wall.

9. The apparatus of claim 8 , wherein a width of the hole is greater than a width of the gap.

10. The apparatus of claim 7 , further comprising a cover member attached to cover the hole.

11. The apparatus of claim 1 ,

wherein an end of the back cover is provided on the first and second tab portions.

12. The apparatus of claim 11 , wherein the side cover comprises a protrusion protruding in a direction toward a rear of the display panel, wherein the end of the back cover is positioned relative to the protrusion.

13. The apparatus of claim 1 , further comprising:

at least one of a wireless communication unit and a speaker module positioned on the connection side cover.

14. The apparatus of claim 1 , further comprising a bottom cover positioned on a long side of the display panel, the bottom cover connected to the frame and the connection side cover positioned relative to the bottom cover.

15. The apparatus of claim 14 , wherein the bottom cover covers a portion of a front of the display panel.

16. The apparatus of claim 1 ,

wherein the back cover includes at least one first hole, at least one of the first and second portions includes at least one second hole, and the frame includes at least one third hole,

wherein the back cover, at least one of the first and second portions of the side cover, and the frame are fastened to one another through a fastening member passing through the first, second, and third holes.

17. The apparatus of claim 1 ,

wherein the back cover is divided into a first back cover and a second back cover connected to the first back cover, wherein a material forming the first back cover is different from a material forming the second back cover.

18. The display apparatus of claim 17 ,

wherein the second back cover contains a material capable of transmitting a radio wave,

wherein a wireless communication unit is provided between the frame and the second back cover.

19. The display apparatus of claim 1 , wherein a corner portion of the side wall and a first edge respectively of the first tab portion and the second tab portion form a first gap region of the gap, wherein a second edge respectively of the first tab portion and the second tab portion forms a second gap region of the gap, and

wherein the first gap region is closer to the corner than the second gap region.

20. The display apparatus of claim 1 , wherein an end of the back cover is provided over at least part of the first and second tab portions.

21. A display apparatus, comprising:

a display panel including a front substrate and a rear substrate;

a frame provided behind the display panel;

a side cover positioned relative to sides of the display panel, the side cover including

a side wall,

a first tab portion extending from a first portion of the side wall in a first direction, and

a second tab portion extending from a second portion of the side wall in a second direction, the second direction being substantially different to the first direction,

the side cover connected to the frame; and

a back cover provided behind the frame,

wherein a corner portion of the side wall and a first edge respectively of the first tab portion and the second tab portion form a first gap region of a gap at or near a corner of the side cover,

wherein a second edge respectively of the first tab portion and the second tab portion forms a second gap region of the gap near the corner of the side cover, and

wherein the first gap region is closer to the corner than the second gap region.

22. The apparatus of claim 21 , wherein the first gap region extends along a length of the first edge.

23. The apparatus of claim 21 , wherein the first gap region is positioned at the corner of the side cover.

24. The apparatus of claim 21 , wherein the side cover includes:

a first side cover;

a second side cover positioned relative to the first side cover;

a third side cover positioned relative to the first side cover and opposite to the second side cover; and

a fourth side cover positioned relative to the second and third side cover and opposite to the first side cover,

wherein the corner includes:

a first corner located at a bent region where the first and the second side covers meet,

a second corner located at a bent region where the first and the third side coves meet,

a third corner located at a bent region where the second and fourth side covers meet, and

a fourth corner located at a bent region where the third and fourth side covers meet.

25. The apparatus of claim 24 , wherein the fourth side cover includes a first overhang extending from the second side cover in a parallel direction of the first side cover and a second overhang extending from the third side cover in a parallel direction of the first side cover, the first and second overhangs being separated to form an opening therebetween, wherein a connection side cover is positioned between the first and second overhangs of the fourth side cover.

26. The apparatus of claim 21 , wherein a width of the first gap region is greater than a width of the second gap region.

27. The apparatus of claim 21 , further comprising a cover member attached to cover the first gap region.

28. The apparatus of claim 21 ,

wherein an end of the back cover is provided on the first and second tab portions.

29. The apparatus of claim 28 , wherein the side cover comprises a protrusion protruding in a direction toward a rear of the display panel, wherein the end of the back cover is positioned relative to the protrusion.

30. The apparatus of claim 21 , further comprising:

at least one of a wireless communication unit and a speaker module positioned on the connection side cover.

31. The apparatus of claim 21 , further comprising a bottom cover positioned on a long side of the display panel, the bottom cover connected to the frame and the connection side cover positioned relative to the bottom cover.

32. The apparatus of claim 31 , wherein the bottom cover covers a portion of a front of the display panel.

33. The apparatus of claim 31 ,

wherein the back cover includes at least one first hole, at least one of the first and second portions includes at least one second hole, and the frame includes at least one third hole,

wherein the back cover, at least one of the first and second portions of the side cover, and the frame are fastened to one another through a fastening member passing through the first, second, and third holes.

34. The apparatus of claim 31 ,

wherein the back cover is divided into a first back cover and a second back cover connected to the first back cover, wherein a material forming the first back cover is different from a material forming the second back cover.

35. The display apparatus of claim 34 ,

wherein the second back cover contains a material capable of transmitting a radio wave,

wherein a wireless communication unit is provided between the frame and the second back cover.

36. The display apparatus of claim 21 , wherein the first tab portion is spaced form the second tab portion with the first and second gap regions, and

wherein the first portion of the side wall is connected to the second portion of the side wall at or near the corner.

37. The display apparatus of claim 21 , wherein a connection side cover which extends in the second direction and is provided between and coupled to edges of the side cover.

38. The display apparatus of claim 21 , wherein an end of the back cover is provided over at least part of the first and second tab portions.

39. A display apparatus, comprising:

a display panel including a front substrate and a rear substrate;

a frame provided behind the display panel;

a side cover positioned relative to sides of the display panel, the side cover including

a side wall,

a first tab portion extending from a first portion of the side wall in a first direction, and

a second tab portion extending from a second portion of the side wall in a second direction, the second direction being different to the first direction,

the side cover being connected to the frame; and

a back cover provided behind the frame,

wherein the first tab portion is spaced from the second tab portion with a gap at or near a corner of the side cover,

wherein the first portion of the side wall is connected to the second portion of the side wall at or near the corner of the side cover,

wherein an end of the back cover is provided over at least part of the tab portion.

40. The display apparatus of claim 39 , wherein a corner portion of the side wall and a first edge respectively of the first tab portion and the second tab portion form a first gap region of the gap, wherein a second edge respectively of the first tab portion and the second tab portion forms a second gap region of the gap, and

wherein the first gap region is closer to the corner than the second gap region.

41. The display apparatus of claim 39 , wherein a connection side cover which extends in the second direction and is provided between and coupled to edges of the side cover.

42. The display apparatus of claim 39 , further comprising a hole in each of the corner,

wherein the hole is positioned between the gap and the side wall,

wherein a width of the hole is greater than a width of the gap.

43. The apparatus of claim 39 , wherein the end of the back cover is provided over and direct contact with at least part of the first and second tab portions.

44. The apparatus of claim 39 , wherein the end of the back cover is provided over but not in direct contact with at least part of the first and second tab portions.

45. The apparatus of claim 39 , wherein the side cover includes:

a first side cover;

a second side cover positioned relative to the first side cover;

a third side cover positioned relative to the first side cover and opposite to the second side cover; and

a fourth side cover positioned relative to the second and third side cover and opposite to the first side cover,

wherein the corner includes:

a first corner located at a bent region where the first and the second side covers meet,

a second corner located at a bent region where the first and the third side coves meet,

a third corner located at a bent region where the second and fourth side covers meet, and

a fourth corner located at a bent region where the third and fourth side covers meet.

46. The apparatus of claim 45 , wherein the fourth side cover includes a first overhang extending from the second side cover in a parallel direction of the first side cover and a second overhang extending from the third side cover in a parallel direction of the first side cover, the first and second overhangs being separated to form an opening therebetween, wherein a connection side cover is positioned between the first and second overhangs of the fourth side cover.

47. The apparatus of claim 39 , further comprising a hole in each of the corner.

48. The apparatus of claim 47 , wherein the hole is positioned between the gap and the side wall.

49. The apparatus of claim 48 , wherein a width of the hole is greater than a width of the gap.

50. The apparatus of claim 48 , further comprising a cover member attached to cover the hole.

51. The apparatus of claim 39 , wherein the side cover comprises a protrusion protruding in a direction toward a rear of the display panel, wherein the end of the back cover is positioned relative to the protrusion.

52. The apparatus of claim 39 , further comprising:

at least one of a wireless communication unit and a speaker module positioned on the connection side cover.

53. The apparatus of claim 39 , further comprising a bottom cover positioned on a long side of the display panel, the bottom cover connected to the frame and the connection side cover positioned relative to the bottom cover.

54. The apparatus of claim 53 , wherein the bottom cover covers a portion of a front of the display panel.

55. The apparatus of claim 39 ,

wherein the back cover includes at least one first hole, at least one of the first and second portions includes at least one second hole, and the frame includes at least one third hole,

wherein the back cover, at least one of the first and second portions of the side cover, and the frame are fastened to one another through a fastening member passing through the first, second, and third holes.

56. The apparatus of claim 39 ,

wherein the back cover is divided into a first back cover and a second back cover connected to the first back cover, wherein a material forming the first back cover is different from a material forming the second back cover.

57. The display apparatus of claim 56 ,

wherein the second back cover contains a material capable of transmitting a radio wave,

wherein a wireless communication unit is provided between the frame and the second back cover.
