Abstract

Methods and apparatus for communication at a network entity comprise sending a measurement configuration message to a user equipment (UE) to configure the UE to perform one or more measurements during a specified measurement period. Additionally, the methods and apparatus comprise suspending, at the network entity, transmission of at least one configuration parameter to the UE during the specified measurement period, wherein the network entity is the serving network entity. Moreover, the methods and apparatus comprise receiving at least one measurement report message from the UE after the specified measurement period.

Claims (36)

1. A method of communication at a network entity, comprising:

sending a measurement configuration message to a user equipment (UE) to configure the UE to perform one or more measurements during a measurement period;

suspending, at the network entity, transmission of at least one configuration parameter to the UE during the measurement period based at least in part on sending the measurement configuration message to the UE, wherein the network entity is the serving network entity; and

receiving a measurement report message from the UE after the measurement period, wherein the measurement report message includes a second network identifier of a neighboring network entity; and

determining a transmission-related parameter conflict between the network entity and the neighboring network entity when the second network entity identifier of the neighboring network entity is different from a first network entity identifier of the network entity.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the measurement configuration message instructs the UE to determine the second network entity identifier associated with a transmission-related parameter of the network entity during the measurement period.

3. The method of claim 2 , wherein the network entity and the neighboring network entity communicate using the transmission-related parameter.

4. The method of claim 2 , wherein the transmission-related parameter includes a physical cell identifier (PCI).

5. The method of claim 1 , wherein the measurement report message indicates reception of the at least one configuration parameter by the UE from the neighboring network entity.

6. The method of claim 1 , wherein one or both of the first network entity identifier and the second network entity identifier include an evolved universal terrestrial radio access network (E-UTRAN) cell global identifier.

7. The method of claim 1 , further comprising performing at least one conflict resolution procedure based at least in part on determining the transmission-related parameter conflict.

8. The method of claim 1 , wherein the at least one configuration parameter includes system information block one (SIB1).

9. A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing computer-executable code for communication at a network entity, comprising:

code for causing a computer to send a measurement configuration message to a user equipment (UE) to configure the UE to perform one or more measurements during a measurement period based at least in part on sending the measurement configuration message to the UE;

code for causing the computer to suspend, at the network entity, transmission of at least one configuration parameter to the UE during the measurement period, wherein the network entity is a serving network entity;

code for causing the computer to receive a measurement report message from the UE after the measurement period, wherein the measurement report message includes a second network entity identifier of a neighboring network entity; and

code for causing the computer to determine a transmission-related parameter conflict between the network entity and the neighboring network entity when the second network entity identifier of the neighboring network entity is different from a first network entity identifier of the network entity.

10. An apparatus for communication, comprising:

means for sending a measurement configuration message to a user equipment (UE) to configure the UE to perform one or more measurements during a measurement period;

means for suspending, at the network entity, transmission of at least one configuration parameter to the UE during the measurement period based at least in part on sending the measurement configuration message to the UE, wherein the network entity is the serving network entity;

means for receiving a measurement report message from the UE after the measurement period, wherein the measurement report message includes a second network entity identifier of a neighboring network entity; and

means for determining a transmission-related parameter conflict between the network entity and a neighboring network entity when the second network entity identifier of the neighboring network entity is different from a first network entity identifier of the network entity.

11. An apparatus for communication, comprising:

a memory storing executable instructions;

and a processor in communication with the memory, wherein the processor is configured to execute the instructions to:

send a measurement configuration message to a user equipment (UE) to configure the UE to perform one or more measurements during a measurement period;

suspend, at the network entity, transmission of at least one configuration parameter to the UE during the measurement period, wherein the network entity is the serving network entity based at least in part on sending the measurement configuration message to the UE; and

receive a measurement report message from the UE after the measurement period, wherein the measurement report message includes a second network entity identifier of a neighboring network entity; and

determining a transmission-related parameter conflict between the network entity and a neighboring network entity when the second network entity identifier of the neighboring network entity is different from a first network entity identifier of the network entity.

12. The apparatus of claim 11 , wherein the measurement configuration message instructs the UE to determine the second network entity identifier associated with a transmission-related parameter of the network entity during the measurement period.

13. The apparatus of claim 12 , wherein the network entity and the neighboring network entity communicate using the transmission-related parameter.

14. The apparatus of claim 12 , wherein the transmission-related parameter includes a physical cell identifier (PCI).

15. The apparatus of claim 11 , wherein the measurement report message indicates reception of the at least one configuration parameter by the UE from the neighboring network entity.

16. The apparatus of claim 11 , wherein one or both of the first network entity identifier and the second network entity identifier include an evolved universal terrestrial radio access network (E-UTRAN) cell global identifier.

17. The apparatus of claim 11 , wherein the processor is further configured to perform at least one conflict resolution procedure based at least in part on determining the transmission-related parameter conflict.

18. The apparatus of claim 11 , wherein the at least one configuration parameter includes system information block one (SIB1).
