Abstract

The AUGMENTED REALITY VIRTUAL CONTENT PLATFORM APPARATUSES, METHODS AND SYSTEMS (“ARV”) provides a photo driven ad-platform that transforms digital media placements into immersive and immediately shareable brand-consumer engagements via GPS-linked virtual photo components instantiated on a user mobile device. Within embodiments, users may create and share photographs augmented with brands or other images and accompanying messages on various social networks using their Smartphones or tablets to earn rewards. In one implementation, merchants and/or advertisers may populate the mobile augmented reality space as fans and consumers may share their photos on social networks and spread the word virally.

Claims (38)

1. A system comprising:

a memory to store a plurality of augmented image overlays; and

a processor, operatively coupled to the memory, to:

identify attributes of an image captured by a first client device associated with a social network, the attributes comprising a geo-location of the first client device when the image is captured;

select augmented image overlays based on the attributes associated with the image and the first client device, the augmented image overlays comprise brand data of a campaign that is supplied based on a bid from a merchant; wherein the bid represents a request from the merchant for exclusivity from further merchant bidding to inject brand data into the augmented image overlays for a time duration of the campaign as specified by the merchant;

determine that location data associated with the augmented image overlays corresponds to the geo-location associated with the first client device;

provide the augmented image overlays associated with the geo-location to the first client device, each of the augmented image overlays to be injected as a selectable overlay on top of the image to augment the image as presented on a display of the first client device, wherein the augmented image overlays are displayed in a scrollable list at the display in which each of the augmented image overlays is not presented overlaid on the image prior to being selected by a user to inject into the image;

receive a selection of at least one augmented image overlay of the augmented image overlays; and

post the image with the at least one augmented image overlay associated with the selection to a second client device of the social network.

2. The system of claim 1 , wherein the attributes comprise an object captured in the image.

3. The system of claim 1 , wherein the attributes comprise a physical scene captured in the image.

4. The system, of claim 1 , wherein the augmented image overlays are related to an event at the geo-location associated with the first client device.

5. The system of claim 1 , wherein the augmented image overlays are to be injected into the image in response to a user gesture being applied to the image at the display of the first client device.

6. The system of claim 1 , wherein the augmented image overlays comprises brand data for a campaign associated with the geo-location of the first client device.

7. The system of claim 1 , wherein the selection comprises the processing to drag the at least one of the augmented image overlays from a user scrollable list at the display of the first client device onto the image in response to a user hand gesture at the display.

8. The system of claim 1 , wherein the processor is further to receive snapback responses based on reposting of the image with the at least one augmented image overlay by one or more client devices of the social network, wherein the snapback responses to quantify user interest in the at least one augmented image overlay.

9. A method comprising:

identifying, by a processor, attributes of an image captured by a first client device associated with a social network, the attributes comprising a geo-location of the first client device when the image is captured;

selecting, by the processor, augmented image overlays based on the attributes associated with the image and the first client device, the augmented image overlays comprise brand data of a campaign that is supplied based on a bid from a merchant; wherein the bid represents a request from the merchant for exclusivity from further merchant bidding to inject brand data into the augmented image overlays for a time duration of the campaign as specified by the merchant;

determining, by the processor, location data associated with the augmented image overlays corresponds to the geo-location associated with the first client device;

providing, by the processor, the augmented image overlays associated with the geo-location to the first client device, each of the augmented image overlays to be injected as a selectable overlay on top of the image to augment the image as presented on a display of the first client device, wherein the augmented image overlays are displayed in a scrollable list at the display in which each of the augmented image overlays is not presented overlaid on the image prior to being selected by a user to inject into the image;

receiving a selection of at least one augmented image overlay of the augmented image overlays; and

posting, by the processor, the image with the at least one augmented image overlay associated with the selection to a second client device of the social network.

10. The method of claim 9 , wherein the attributes comprise an object captured in the image.

11. The method of claim 9 , wherein the attributes comprise a physical scene captured in the image.

12. The method of claim 9 , wherein the augmented image overlays are to be injected into the image in response to a user gesture being applied to the image at the display of the first client device.

13. The method of claim 9 , wherein the augmented image overlays comprises brand data for a campaign associated with the geo-location of the first client device.

14. A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium comprising instructions that when executed, by a processing device, cause the processing device to:

identify, by the processing device, attributes of an image captured by a first client device associated with a social network, the attributes comprising a geo-location of the first client device when the image is captured;

select augmented image overlays based on the attributes associated with the image and the first client device, the augmented image overlays comprise brand data of a campaign that is supplied based on a bid from a merchant, wherein the bid represents a request from the merchant for exclusivity from further merchant bidding to inject brand data into the augmented image overlays for a time duration of the campaign as specified by the merchant;

determine that location data associated with the augmented image overlays corresponds to the geo-location associated with the first client device;

provide the augmented image overlays associated with the geo-location to the first client device, each of the augmented image overlays to be injected as a selectable overlay on top of the image to augment the image as presented on a display of the first client device, wherein the augmented image overlays are displayed in a scrollable list at the display in which each of the augmented image overlays is not presented overlaid on the image prior to being selected by a user to inject into the image;

receive a selection of at least one augmented image overlay of the augmented image overlays; and

post the image with the at least one augmented image overlay associated with the selection to a second client device of the social network.

15. The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 14 , wherein the attributes comprise an object captured in the image.

16. The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 14 , wherein the attributes comprise a physical scene captured in the image.

17. The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 14 , wherein the augmented image overlays are related to an event at the geo-location associated with the first client device.

18. The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 14 , wherein the augmented image overlays are to be injected into the image in response to a user gesture being applied to the image at the display of the first client device.
