Abstract

Detectors and related methods and systems are described, based on a primary binding compound and a secondary binding compound used in combination with a support to detect a target in a sample.

Claims (25)

1. A support comprising

a first support portion hosting a plurality of first binding compounds each specific to one respective target of a plurality of targets, each first binding compound being an IgG antibody comprising a corresponding label to form a complex with the target; and

a plurality of second support portions, each hosting one second binding compound, wherein the second binding compound is a synthetic antigen binder being a protein, and is configured to bind selectively to the complex with the target relative to an unbound target and the second binding compound is configured to be in direct contact with the first binding compound and the target of the complex.

2. The support of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of second support portions are spaced and staggered.

3. The support of claim 2 , further comprising a plurality of spaced and staggered third support portions, each third support portion hosting a corresponding third binding compound which binds to the first binding compound.

4. The support of claim 3 , wherein the corresponding third binding compound is non-competitive with respect to the corresponding first binding compound and to the corresponding second binding compound.

5. The support of claim 4 , wherein a number of the plurality of spaced and staggered third support portions corresponds to a number of the plurality of targets.

6. The support of claim 5 , wherein the third support portions are shaped as alphabetical letters.

7. The support of claim 4 , wherein the corresponding third binding compound is an IgG antibody.

8. The support of claim 4 wherein the corresponding third binding compound specifically binds to an unbound first binding compound.

9. The support of claim 3 , further comprising a fourth support portion hosting a litmus pH indicator strip.

10. The support of claim 3 , further comprising a fourth support portion hosting a pH control strip.

11. The support of claim 3 , wherein the plurality of second portions and the plurality of third portions are spaced and staggered by a same distance.

12. The support of claim 3 , wherein the plurality of spaced and staggered second support portions and the plurality of spaced and staggered third support portions form a parallel pattern.

13. The support of claim 12 , wherein each second support portion and a corresponding third support portion are equally distanced.

14. The support of claim 2 , wherein:

each target of the plurality of targets is adapted to bind to both a first binding compound specific to said each target on the first support portion and a second binding compound specific to said each target on one second support portion of said plurality of spaced and staggered second support portions.

15. The support of claim 2 , wherein the plurality of spaced and staggered second support portions are periodically spaced with respect to each other.

16. The support of claim 2 , wherein the plurality of spaced and staggered second support portions are spaced and staggered one from the other along two different directions.

17. The support of claim 16 , wherein the two different directions are perpendicular to each other.

18. The support of claim 2 , wherein the plurality of spaced and staggered second support portions are equally spaced and staggered.

19. The support of claim 1 , wherein the support is made of a material selected from cellulose and nylon.

20. The support of claim 19 , wherein the support is portable and can be hand held.

21. The support of claim 20 , wherein the support has dimensions of 7.9 inches by 5.3 by 0.25 inches.

22. The support of claim 1 , wherein the label comprises a material selected from a colloidal material, a colloidal gold, a colloidal magnetic particle, and colloidal quantum dots.
