Abstract

The present invention proposes a method for transmitting a broadcast signal. The method for transmitting a broadcast signal according to the present invention proposes a system capable of supporting next-generation broadcast service in an environment supporting a next-generation hybrid broadcast which uses a terrestrial broadcasting network and an internet network. Also, the present invention proposes an efficient signaling method which can encompass both the terrestrial broadcasting network and the internet network in an environment supporting next-generation hybrid broadcast.

Claims (19)

1. A method of processing service data, the method comprising:

generating service components of a broadcast service;

generating first signaling data and second signaling data, the first signaling data for locating the second signaling data, the second signaling data signaling the broadcast service;

processing the service components and the second signaling data into transport packets, wherein the first signaling data includes destination Internet Protocol (IP) address information, a destination port number, and source IP address information through which the second signaling data is delivered;

processing the first signaling data and the transport packets into a broadcast signal; and

transmitting the broadcast signal,

wherein the second signaling data includes Real-Time Object Delivery over Unidirectional Transport (ROUTE) session information for indicating a ROUTE session in which the service components of the broadcast service are transmitted, and

wherein the ROUTE session information includes destination IP address information, a destination port number, and source IP address information of the ROUTE session.

2. The method according to claim 1 , wherein the first signaling data includes service identification information identifying the broadcast service and version information indicating changes in the first signaling data related to the broadcast service.

3. The method according to claim 1 , wherein the second signaling data further includes service description information.

4. An apparatus for processing service data, the apparatus comprising:

a first module configured to generate service components of a broadcast service, wherein the first module generates first signaling data and second signaling data, the first signaling data is for locating the second signaling data, and the second signaling data signals the broadcast service;

a second module configured to process the service components and the second signaling data into transport packets, wherein the first signaling data includes destination Internet Protocol (IP) address information, a destination port number, and source IP address information through which the second signaling data is delivered;

a third module configured to process the first signaling data and the transport packets into a broadcast signal; and

a fourth module configured to transmit the broadcast signal,

wherein the second signaling data includes Real-Time Object Delivery over Unidirectional Transport (ROUTE) session information for indicating a ROUTE session in which the service components of the broadcast service are transmitted, and

wherein the ROUTE session information includes destination IP address information, a destination port number, and source IP address information of the ROUTE session.

5. The apparatus according to claim 4 , wherein the first signaling data includes service identification information identifying the broadcast service and version information indicating changes in the first signaling data related to the broadcast service.

6. The apparatus according to claim 4 , wherein the second signaling data further includes service description information.
