Abstract

Systems, methods, and computer-readable media for automating workflow access for a user are provided. A prior activity of a user at a first healthcare application session on a first user device may be determined. The prior activity may occur at a first location in a healthcare facility. Based on the prior activity of the user, as well as a role associated with the user and a second location of the user, a next activity of the user at a second healthcare application session may be predicted. The second healthcare application session may then be automatically launched.

Claims (37)

1. Non-transitory computer-readable media including computer executable instructions embodied thereon that, when executed by a computing device having a processor and memory, perform a method, the method comprising:

determining a first activity of a user at a first healthcare application session on a first user device, the first activity occurring at a first location in a healthcare facility;

based on the first activity of the user, a role associated with the user, and prediction logic, predicting a second activity of the user, wherein the prediction logic is developed based on monitoring user activities across a plurality of users and determining patterns in prior activities, roles, and locations among the plurality of users;

identifying a second user device associated with the predicted second activity of the user;

based on at least one of a location of the second user device being far from a current location of the user or the second user device being unavailable, causing a presentation at the first user device of a message indicating a suggestion to engage in a third activity at a third user device, the third activity being different from the predicted second activity; and

based on the suggestion to engage in the third activity at the third user device, suspending the first healthcare application session by preserving, at a server computer, an operating state of a particular healthcare application included in the first healthcare application session and automatically causing a second healthcare application session to be launched at the third user device, the second healthcare application session including the particular healthcare application and facilitating the third activity, wherein the particular healthcare application is launched on the third user device at the preserved operating state of the particular healthcare application.

2. The media of claim 1 , wherein predicting the second activity of the user is further based on a change from the first location to a second location.

3. The media of claim 2 , wherein predicting the second activity of the user is further based on the user assessing a patient associated with the second location.

4. The media of claim 1 , wherein predicting the second activity of the user is further based on a user interaction changing from the first user device to a different device.

5. The media of claim 4 , wherein predicting the second activity of the user is further based on a set of form factors associated with the first user device, the set of form factors comprising a device capability.

6. The media of claim 1 , wherein identifying the second user device is based on the location of the second user device and a set of form factors associated with the second user device, the set of form factors comprising a device capability.

7. The media of claim 1 , wherein the operating state of the particular healthcare application comprises a particular item or view within the particular healthcare application.

8. The media of claim 1 , wherein the message further comprises a suggestion to engage in the third activity at a particular location based on a privacy level associated with the third activity.

9. A computer system comprising:

one or more processors; and

computer storage memory having computer-executable instructions stored thereon that, when executed by the one or more processors, implement a method, the method comprising:

determining a first activity of a user at a first healthcare application session on a first user device, the first activity occurring at a first location in a healthcare facility;

based on the first activity of the user, a role associated with the user, and prediction logic, predicting a second activity of the user at a second healthcare application session, wherein the prediction logic is developed based on monitoring user activities across a plurality of users and determining patterns in prior activities, roles, and locations among the plurality of users;

identifying a second user device associated with the predicted second activity of the user;

based on at least one of a location of the second user device being far from a current location of the user or the second user device being unavailable causing a presentation at the first user device of a message indicating a suggestion to engage in a third activity at a third user device, the third activity being different from the predicted second activity; and

based on the suggestion to engage in the third activity at the third user device, suspending the first healthcare application session by preserving, at a server computer, an operating state of a particular healthcare application included in the first healthcare application session and automatically causing a second healthcare application session to be launched at the third user device, the second healthcare application session including the particular healthcare application and facilitating the third activity, wherein the particular healthcare application is launched on the third user device at the preserved operating state of the particular healthcare application.

10. The computer system of claim 9 , wherein predicting the second activity of the user is further based on an appointment schedule for the user.

11. The computer system of claim 9 , wherein predicting the second activity of the user is further based on an electronic medical record for a patient associated with the prior activity of the user.

12. The computer system of claim 9 , wherein the message further comprises a suggestion to engage in the third activity at a particular location based on a privacy level associated with the third activity.

13. The computer system of claim 9 , wherein the method further comprises masking identifying data presented in the second healthcare application session based on a privacy level associated with the identifying data.

14. The computer system of claim 13 , wherein masking the identifying data comprises obscuring the identifying data.

15. The computer system of claim 13 , wherein masking the identifying data comprises removing the identifying data.

16. A computer-implemented method for automating workflow access for a user, the method comprising:

determining a first activity of a user at a first healthcare application session on a first user device, the first activity occurring at a first location in a healthcare facility;

based on the first activity of the user, a role associated with the user, and prediction logic, predicting a second activity of the user, wherein the prediction logic is developed based on monitoring user activities across a plurality of users and determining patterns in prior activities, roles, and locations among the plurality of users;

identifying a second user device associated with the predicted second activity of the user;

based on at least one of a location of the second user device being far from a current location of the user or the second user device being unavailable, causing a presentation at the first user device of a message indicating a suggestion to engage in a third activity at a third user device, the third activity being different from the predicted second activity; and

based on the suggestion to engage in the third activity at the third user device, suspending the first healthcare application session by preserving, at a server computer, an operating state of a particular healthcare application included in the first healthcare application session and automatically causing a second healthcare application session to be launched at the third user device, the second healthcare application session including the particular healthcare application and facilitating the third activity, wherein the particular healthcare application is launched on the third user device at the preserved operating state of the particular healthcare application.

17. The computer-implemented method of claim 16 , wherein the message further comprises a suggestion to engage in the third activity at a particular location based on a privacy level associated with the third activity.

18. The computer-implemented method of claim 16 , wherein the method further comprises masking identifying data presented in the second healthcare application session based on a privacy level associated with the identifying data.

19. The computer-implemented method of claim 18 , wherein masking the identifying data comprises obscuring the identifying data.

20. The computer-implemented method of claim 18 , wherein masking the identifying data comprises removing the identifying data.
