Abstract

A content delivery provider may stream an application to each of a plurality of computing devices. The content delivery provider may transmit an offer to download the application to each of the plurality of computing devices, after a first initial display interval. The provider may receive a number of positive user interactions with the offer after the first initial display interval, and a total number of positive user interactions with the offer. The provider may automatically adjust the initial display interval by a factor proportional to a desired first-display quantile divided by the number of positive user interactions after the first initial display interval. The application may be streamed to a second computing device, and the offer to download the application transmitted to the second computing device, after the adjusted initial display interval.

determine that a ratio of the first number of positive user interactions to the total number of positive user interactions exceeds a threshold ratio, and

reduce the first initial display interval to generate a second initial display interval by multiplying the first initial display interval with a ratio of a target threshold first-display quantile divided by the first number of positive user interactions after the first initial display interval, the second initial display interval calculated to be less than the first initial display interval based on determining that the ratio of the first number of positive user interactions to the total number of positive user interactions exceeds the threshold ratio; and

stream the application executed by the virtualization engine to a second computing device, and

transmit the content item including the prompt to download the application to the second computing device after the second initial display interval, a positive interaction on the prompt at the second computing device directing the content delivery server to cease streaming of the application to the second computing device after the second initial display interval thereby reducing consumption of resources by the content delivery server.

8. The system of claim 7 , wherein the virtualization engine is further configured to:

retransmit the content item including the prompt to a subset of the plurality of computing devices after a second display interval comprising a second predetermined time between transmitting the content item including the prompt and retransmitting the content item including the prompt, responsive to not receiving a positive user interaction with the prompt of the content item after the first initial display interval.
