Abstract

There is provided a method for performing a logical channel prioritization. The method may comprise: receiving an uplink (UL) grant; identifying a set of logical channels whose data are to be transmitted using the uplink grant; and performing a logical channel prioritization (LCP) based on the identified set of logical channels.

Claims (37)

1. A method for performing a logical channel prioritization, the method comprising:

receiving a connectivity configuration on dual connectivities with a first base station and a second base station, the connectivity configuration indicating a first connectivity related to the first base station and a second connectivity related to the second base station;

receiving a bearer configuration,

wherein the bearer configuration indicates a first bearer is related to the first connectivity of the dual connectivities and a second bearer is related to the second connectivity of the dual connectivities;

receiving an uplink (UL) grant only via the first connectivity and not receiving an UL grant via the second connectivity;

identifying a set of logical channels corresponding to the first connectivity and whose data are to be transmitted, using the UL grant, only via the first connectivity and not via the second connectivity;

performing a logical channel prioritization (LCP) only on the identified set of logical channels corresponding to the first connectivity; and

not performing the LCP on any channel corresponding to the second connectivity from which an UL grant is not received.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the performing the LCP is further based on:

a control data to be transmitted using the uplink grant.

3. The method of claim 1 , further comprising:

connecting with the first base station via a first MAC entity corresponding to the first connectivity; and

connecting with the second base station via a second MAC entity corresponding to the second connectivity.

4. The method of claim 3 , wherein the performing of the LCP includes:

if the first MAC entity receives the uplink grant corresponding to the first connectivity, generating, by the first MAC entity, a data unit based on the LCP; and

transmitting, by the first MAC entity, the generated data unit to the first base station.

5. The method of claim 4 , wherein the generated data unit includes:

data from the identified set of logical channels, except for a data from logical channels related to the second MAC entity and except for a control data related to the second MAC entity.

6. A communication device configured for performing a logical channel prioritization, the communication device comprising:

a radio frequency (RF) unit; and

a processor connected with the RF unit thereby to control to:

receive a connectivity configuration on dual connectivities to a first base station and a second base station, the connectivity configuration indicating a first connectivity related to the first base station and a second connectivity related to the second base station,

receive a bearer configuration on a first bearer and a second bearer,

wherein the first bearer is related to the first connectivity of the dual connectivities and the second bearer is related to the second connectivity of the dual connectivities,

receive an uplink (UL) grant only via the first connectivity and not receiving an UL grant via the second connectivity;

identify a set of logical channels whose data are to be transmitted, using the uplink grant, only via the first connectivity and not via the second connectivity; and

perform a logical channel prioritization (LCP) only on the identified set of logical channels corresponding to the first connectivity; and

not perform the LCP on any channel corresponding to the second connectivity from which an UL grant is not received.

7. The communication device of claim 6 , wherein:

the processor is configured to perform the LCP further based on a control data to be transmitted using the uplink grant.

8. The communication device of claim 6 , wherein the RF unit is configured to:

connect with the first base station via a first MAC entity corresponding to the first connectivity; and

connect with the second base station via a second MAC entity corresponding to the second connectivity.

9. The communication device of claim 8 , wherein:

if the first MAC entity receives the uplink grant corresponding to the first connectivity, the first MAC entity generates a data unit based on the LCP and transmit the generated data unit to the first base station.

10. The communication device of claim 9 , wherein the generated data unit includes:

data from the identified set of logical channels, except for a data from logical channels related to the second MAC entity and except for a control data related to the second MAC entity.
