Abstract

Various embodiments disclosed herein provide for a system for managing and adding contacts. A first mobile device can display an image that can be recorded by a second mobile device. Similarly, the first mobile device can record an image displayed by the second mobile device. The image data from each mobile device can be transmitted to a cloud based contact management system, which can match the images to contact information associated with each mobile device. The contact management system can then push the contact details of each mobile device to the other mobile device, and/or link social media accounts associated with each mobile device. The contact management system can also store connection records that represent an ongoing authorization to push contact information changes from each user to the other, respectively.

Claims (34)

1. A mobile device, comprising:

a memory having stored thereon computer executable components;

a processor that executes at least the following computer executable components:

an imaging component that receives first image data from a camera, and analyzes the first image data to generate first description data associated with the first image data;

a network component that transmits the first description data to a contact management server;

a sharing component that generates second image data;

a display that displays the second image data for another mobile device to capture an image and send second description data associated with the second image data to the contact management server, and wherein

the network component receives first contact data associated with the other mobile device and an indication that second contact data associated with the mobile device has been shared with the other mobile device in response to the first description data and the second description data being sent to the contact management server within a predetermined time period; and

a prompting component that sends a prompt in response to determining that the other mobile device is within a predefined range and is associated with a first contact within a predefined degree of separation from a second contact associated with the second contact data.

2. The mobile device of claim 1 , wherein the components further comprise:

a contact component that updates a contact list based on the first contact data.

3. The mobile device of claim 1 , wherein the first contact data facilitates linking a first social media account associated with the first contact data and a second social media account associated with the second contact data.

4. The mobile device of claim 1 , wherein the second contact data is associated with a profile selected from a set of profiles based at least in part on location information, calendar information, or sensor information.

5. The mobile device of claim 1 , further comprising:

a synchronization component that synchronizes contact information in a first contact repository and a second contact repository based on the first contact data.

6. The mobile device of claim 1 , wherein the prompt is delivered via an optical head mounted display device.

7. The mobile device of claim 1 , further comprising:

an initiation component that receives initiation data, representative of an initiation request, from the other mobile device, and generates initiation description data based on the initiation data.

8. The mobile device of claim 7 , wherein the network component transmits the initiation description data to the contact management server.

9. The mobile device of claim 1 , wherein the initiation data is received via a radio transmission.

10. A method, comprising:

receiving, by a mobile device comprising a processor, first image data from a camera device associated with the mobile device;

analyzing, by the mobile device, the first image data to generate first description data associated with the first image data;

transmitting, by the mobile device, the first description data to a contact management server;

generating second image data;

displaying the second image data for another mobile device to capture an image of and send second description data associated with the second image data to the contact management server;

receiving first contact data associated with the other mobile device and an indication that second contact data associated with the mobile device has been shared with the other mobile device in response to the first description data and the second description data being sent to the contact management server within a predetermined time period; and

generating a prompt in response to determining that another mobile device is within a predefined range and is associated with a first contact within a predefined degree of separation from a second contact associated with the second contact data.

11. The method of claim 10 , further comprising:

updating a contact list based on the first contact data.

12. The method of claim 10 , further comprising:

synchronizing contact information in a first contact repository and a second contact repository based on the first contact data.

13. The method of claim 10 , further comprising:

receiving initiation data, via, a radio transmission, representative of an initiation request, from the other mobile device, and generating initiation description data based on the initiation data.
