Abstract

A method for supporting a secondary cell (SCell) addition in a radio access system that supports a carrier aggregation (CA), the method is performed by a primary cell (PCell) of a first timing advanced group (TAG) and includes acquiring, from a SCell of a second TAG, random access channel (RACH) resource information related to a random access procedure, wherein the random access procedure is to be performed at the SCell in order to add the SCell to the first TAG; transmitting, to a user equipment (UE), SCell related information, wherein the SCell related information includes a cell identifier of the SCell and the RACH resource information; and receiving, from the UE, a message reporting that the random access procedure at the SCell has failed, wherein the RACH resource information includes RACH parameters required to perform the random access procedure, and wherein a timing advanced value of the first TAG is different from a timing advanced value of the second TAG.

receiving, from the UE, a message reporting that the random access procedure at the SCell has failed,

wherein the RACH resource information includes RACH parameters required to perform the random access procedure, and

wherein a timing advanced value of the first TAG is different from a timing advanced value of the second TAG.

2. The method according to claim 1 , wherein the first TAG is a primary cell group which includes the PCell and the second TAG is a secondary cell group which does not includes a PCell.

3. The method according to claim 2 , wherein the SCell is a leader SCell which performs rules of a primary cell in the second TAG.

4. The method according to claim 1 , wherein the SCell related information further includes RACH parameters required to generate RACH preamble which will be used for the random access procedure.

5. The method according to claim 1 , wherein the SCell related information is transmitted by a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) order message.

6. A method for supporting a secondary cell (SCell) addition in a radio access system that supports a carrier aggregation (CA), the method is performed by user equipment (UE) and comprising:

receiving, from a primary cell (PCell) of a first timing advanced group (TAG), SCell related information, wherein the SCell related information includes a cell identifier of a SCell and random access channel (RACH) resource information;

performing a random access procedure with the SCell based on the SCell related information in order to add the SCell to the first TAG; and

transmitting, to the PCell, a message reporting that the random access procedure at the SCell has failed,

wherein the RACH resource information includes RACH parameters required to perform the random access procedure, and

wherein a timing advanced value of the first TAG is different from a timing advanced value of the second TAG.

7. The method according to claim 6 , wherein the first TAG is a primary cell group which includes the PCell and the second TAG is a secondary cell group which does not includes a PCell.

8. The method according to claim 7 , wherein the SCell is a leader SCell which performs rules of a primary cell in the second TAG.

9. The method according to claim 6 , wherein the SCell related information further includes RACH parameters required to generate RACH preamble which will be used for the random access procedure.

10. The method according to claim 6 , wherein the SCell related information is transmitted by a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) order message.

11. An evolved Node B (eNB) for supporting a secondary cell (SCell) addition in a radio access system that supports a carrier aggregation (CA), the eNB comprising:

a transmitter;

a receiver; and

a processor controls the transmitter and the receiver to support the SCell addition,

wherein the eNB manages a primary cell (PCell) of a first timing advanced group (TAG);

acquire, from a SCell of a second TAG, random access channel (RACH) resource information related to a random access procedure, wherein the random access procedure is to be performed at the SCell in order to add the SCell to the first TAG;

transmit, to a user equipment (UE) by controlling the transmitter, SCell related information, wherein the SCell related information includes a cell identifier of the SCell and the RACH resource information; and

receive, from the UE by controlling the receiver, a message reporting that the random access procedure at the SCell has failed,

wherein the RACH resource information includes RACH parameters required to perform the random access procedure, and

wherein a timing advanced value of the first TAG is different from a timing advanced value of the second TAG.

12. The eNB according to claim 11 , wherein the first TAG is a primary cell group which includes the PCell and the second TAG is a secondary cell group which does not includes a PCell.
