Abstract

In one aspect, the invention relates to a compound of the structure: or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, and a crystalline form of this compound, having neprilysin inhibition activity. In another aspect, the invention relates to pharmaceutical compositions comprising this compound; methods of using this compound; and processes for preparing this compound.

Claims (6)

1. A method for treating hypertension, the method comprising administering to patient a therapeutically effective amount of a compound of the following structure:

or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof;

wherein the hypertension is selected from the group consisting of primary hypertension, secondary hypertension, hypertension with accompanying renal disease, severe hypertension with or without accompanying renal disease, pulmonary hypertension, and resistant hypertension.

2. The method according to claim 1 , wherein the hypertension is resistant hypertension.

3. A method for treating portal hypertension, the method comprising administering to patient a therapeutically effective amount of a compound of the following structure:

or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.
