Monitor housing apparatus
View Patent ↗A monitor housing apparatus comprises an opening and closing mechanism, a drive motor, a power supply, a backup capacitor, a contact switch, and a controller. The opening and closing mechanism turns a monitor around a rotation shaft. The power supply supplies electrical power to the drive motor. The backup capacitor supplies power to the drive motor in the event that the supply of power from the power supply to the drive motor is shut off. The controller applies voltage to the backup capacitor when the contact switch detects that the monitor is in its deployed state, and halts the application of voltage from the power supply to the backup capacitor when the contact switch detects that the monitor is in its stowed state.
1. A monitor housing apparatus for storing a monitor in a stowed position, which monitor is installed in a housing component provided to the ceiling, in a state of being able to open and close, the monitor housing apparatus comprising:
an opening and closing mechanism configured to turn the monitor around a rotation shaft that serves as the rotational center when the monitor is opened and closed;
a drive motor configured to supply the opening and closing mechanism with drive force for opening and closing the monitor;
a power supply configured to supply electrical power to the drive motor;
a capacitor configured to supply the drive motor with emergency power for stowing away the monitor in the event that the supply of power from the power supply to the drive motor is shut off;
a detector configured to detect when the monitor has been deployed; and
a voltage application controller configured to apply voltage from the power supply to the capacitor when the detector detects that the monitor is in its deployed state, and halt the application of voltage from the power supply to the capacitor when the detector detects that the monitor is in its stowed state.
2. The monitor housing apparatus according to claim 1 ,
wherein the detector includes a contact switch configured to detect a fully closed state of the monitor by coming into contact with part of the monitor in the fully closed state of the monitor.
3. The monitor housing apparatus according to claim 1 ,
wherein the detector includes an angle sensor configured to sense the deployment angle of the monitor.
4. The monitor housing apparatus according to claim 1 ,
wherein the detector includes a photosensor configured to sense the position of the monitor.
5. The monitor housing apparatus according to claim 1 , further comprising
a detection circuit configured to detect that the supply of power from the power supply to the drive motor has been cut off,
wherein the voltage application controller controls the capacitor so that the capacitor provides an emergency power supply for moving the monitor to its closed state to the drive motor when the detection circuit detects that the power from the power supply has stopped and the detector detects that the monitor is in its deployed state.
6. A monitor housing apparatus according to claim 1 , further comprising,
a switch configured to switch on and off the application of voltage from the power supply to the capacitor based on a consequence of the detector.
