Abstract

The present disclosure relates to methods and apparatus for accurately calculating time with a Miniature Atomic Clock along with other components that can receive process and communicate information to enable locating, identifying, and tracking physical Assets and data contained within the Assets. More specifically, the present disclosure presents a Global Resource Locating (GRL) device and service that may be adhered or inserted in the Asset, which may be built in or attached to a second Asset, wherein the device may comprise a receiver and a trilateration mechanism. In some aspects, the Asset may comprise a product, organism, produce, or component of a logistics based operational process and marketing based Asset movement and usage analysis.

Claims (26)

1. A global resource locator (GRL) device for determining location information, the GRL device comprising:

a fullerene based clock device;

a processor in logical communication with the clock device;

a radio receiver; and

a digital storage comprising a list of reference points that, may be used in trilateration and software executable upon demand, the executable software operative with the processor to cause the GRL device to determine a geospatial location of the GRL device.

2. The GRL device of claim 1 GRL device a data storage comprising a unique identifier.

3. The GRL device of claim 1 wherein the software is further operative with the processor to determine the geospatial location of the GRL device by causing the GRL device to:

receive respective timing signals from three or more reference points;

compare the received respective timing signals with a time indication generated by the clock device comprising a fullerene transition frequency device; and

determine a geospatial location of the GRL device based upon trilateration including the respective received timing signals and the time indication generated by the fullerene based clock.

4. The GRL device of claim 3 GRL device a data storage comprising a time interval specifying how often the processor causes the GRL device to determine a geospatial location.

5. The GRL device of claim 3 wherein the three or more reference points comprise a fixed cellular service tower.

6. The GRL device of claim 1 GRL device a transmitter.

7. The GRL device of claim 6 wherein the software operative with the processor comprises a predetermined delay between transmission of signaling pulses which eliminates data collisions.

8. The GRL device, of claim 7 wherein the transmitter is operative to transmit data, the data comprising a unique identifier and a description of spatial domain of the GRL device.

9. The GRL device of claim 8 wherein the software is further operative to cause the GRL device transmit a location comprising a unique identifier.

10. The GRL device of claim 9 wherein the software is further operative with the processor to determine the location of the GRL device and transmit an authenticated location comprising hashed data based upon a private key stored in the GRL device.

11. The GRL device of claim 1 wherein the software is further operative with the processor to cause the GRL device to receive an authentication code and a coordinate accuracy value from a wireless device.

12. The GRL device of claim 1 GRL device a data storage comprising a log of determined geospatial locations and GRL device data values.

13. The GRL device of claim 1 wherein the GRL device additionally comprises a storage comprising an asset type to which the GRL device is attached.

14. The GRL device of claim 1 wherein the GRL device additionally comprises a storage comprising a list of power sources available to the GRL device.

15. The GRL device of claim 1 wherein the GRL device additionally comprises a storage comprising a list of sensors associated with the GRL device for providing data to the GRL device.

16. The GRL device of claim 1 GRL device a memory storing a schedule of time intervals for activating a sensor that provides data.

17. The GRL device of claim 16 wherein the schedule of time intervals is input prior to an asset to which the GRL device is attached leaves an origination point.

18. The GRL device of claim 1 wherein the software operative with the processor is additionally operative to receive a signal from within range of a radio transmission device that may be polled.

19. The GRL device of claim 1 GRL device an energy harvester.
