Abstract

Provided are a method for performing a device-to-device (D2D) operation using an exceptional resource by a user equipment (UE) in a wireless communication system, and a UE using the method. The method comprises performing D2D communication in one cell of a first cell having a first frequency and a second cell having a second frequency, wherein the first cell is a serving cell of the UE, and whether the exceptional resource provided by the first cell can be used depends on in which cell of the first cell and the second cell the D2D communication is performed.

Claims (37)

1. A method for performing device-to-device (D2D) communication in a wireless communication system, the method performed by a user equipment (UE) and comprising:

receiving, from a first cell or a second cell, information related to exceptional resources,

wherein the first cell is a primary cell and the second cell is a cell other than the primary cell; and

performing the D2D communication on the second cell based on whether the information is received from the first cell or the second cell,

wherein the exceptional resources are resources used in a case that the UE detects a physical layer problem or radio link failure,

wherein whether exceptional resources can be used for the D2D communication on the second cell depends on whether the information is received from the first cell or the second cell, and

wherein, when the UE performs the D2D communication on the second cell and the exceptional resources are provided based on the first cell, the exceptional resources are not used for performing the D2D communication on the second cell, and

when the UE performs the D2D communication on the second cell and the exceptional resources are provided based on the second cell, the exceptional resources are used for performing the D2D communication on the second cell.

2. The method of claim 1 ,

wherein the first cell is a cell at a first frequency and the second cell is a cell at a second frequency, and

wherein the first frequency is different from the second frequency.

3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the information is provided based on the first cell or the second cell via a broadcast.

4. The method of claim 1 ,

wherein the UE supports the D2D communication on at least one of mode 1 resources, mode 2 resources, or the exceptional resources,

wherein the mode 1 resources are resources scheduled by the first cell or the second cell,

wherein the mode 2 resources are resources determined by the UE itself, and

wherein the exceptional resources are resources provided by the first cell or the second cell.

5. A User Equipment (UE) comprising:

a transceiver; and

a processor, operatively coupled to the transceiver,

wherein the processor is configured to:

control the transceiver to receive, from a first cell or a second cell, information related to exceptional resources,

wherein the first cell is a primary cell and the second cell is a cell other than the primary cell; and

perform the D2D communication on the second cell based on whether the first cell or the information is received from the second cell,

wherein the exceptional resources are resources used in a case that the UE detects a physical layer problem or radio link failure,

wherein whether exceptional resources can be used for the D2D communication on the second cell depends on whether the information is received from the first cell or the second cell, and

wherein, when the UE performs the D2D communication on the second cell and the exceptional resources are provided based on the first cell, the exceptional resources are not used for performing the D2D communication on the second cell, and

when the UE performs the D2D communication on the second cell and the exceptional resources are provided based on the second cell, the exceptional resources are used for performing the D2D communication on the second cell.

6. The UE of claim 5 ,

wherein the first cell is a cell at a first frequency and the second cell is a cell at a second frequency, and

wherein the first frequency is different from the second frequency.

7. The UE of claim 5 , wherein the information is provided based on the first cell or the second cell via a broadcast.

8. The UE of claim 5 ,

wherein the UE supports the D2D communication on at least one of mode 1 resources, mode 2 resources, or the exceptional resources,

wherein the mode 1 resources are resources scheduled by the first cell or the second cell,

wherein the mode 2 resources are resources determined by the UE itself, and

wherein the exceptional resources are resources provided by the first cell or the second cell.
