Abstract

A display device may includes: a substrate including a pixel area and a peripheral area; pixels provided in the pixel area of the substrate, each of the pixels including a light-emitting element provided with a pixel electrode; scan lines and data lines coupled to the pixels; a power line configured to supply driving power to the light-emitting elements, and extending in one direction; and an initialization power line configured to supply initialization power to the light-emitting elements. The power line and the initialization power line may be provided on different layers. The initialization power line may include: first conductive lines extending in a direction oblique to the scan lines and the data lines; and conductive lines intersecting the first conductive lines. The first and second conductive lines may be disposed in areas between the pixel electrodes of adjacent light-emitting elements.

Claims (72)

1. A display device, comprising:

a substrate comprising a pixel area and a peripheral area;

pixels disposed in the pixel area of the substrate, each of the pixels comprising at least one transistor and a light-emitting element comprising a pixel electrode and electrically connected to the transistor through a first contact hole passing through an insulating layer;

scan lines and data lines coupled to the pixels;

a power line configured to supply driving power to the light-emitting elements; and

an initialization power line configured to supply initialization power to the pixels,

wherein:

the initialization power line comprises a plurality of first conductive lines and second conductive lines, and the first conductive lines and the second conductive lines are electrically connected to each other to form a plurality of closed loops and are disposed in areas between the pixel electrodes of adjacent light-emitting elements; and

the initialization power line is electrically connected to a source or a drain of the transistor through a second contact hole passing through the insulating layer.

2. The display device according to claim 1 , wherein a single light-emitting element is disposed in each area formed by intersection of the first conductive lines and the second conductive lines.

3. The display device according to claim 2 , wherein:

the initialization power line further comprises a contact portion extending from an intersection where one of first conductive lines and one of second conductive lines intersects each other; and

the contact portion has a shape protruding toward the first contact hole located in the each area.

4. The display device according to claim 1 ,

wherein portions of at least either the first conductive lines or the second conductive lines are removed, and

wherein a plurality of light-emitting elements are disposed in each area formed by intersection of the first conductive lines and the second conductive lines.

5. The display device according to claim 1 , wherein portions of at least either the first conductive lines or the second conductive lines are bent, and the bent portions are repeatedly formed.

6. The display device according to claim 5 ,

wherein the first conductive lines and the second conductive lines comprise a first region, and a second region coupled to the first region, and

wherein a width of the first region is greater than a width of the second region.

7. The display device according to claim 6 , wherein the first region is parallel with either the data lines or the scan lines.

8. The display device according to claim 1 , wherein the closed loops of the initialization power line are provided to surround at least one first electrode.

9. The display device according to claim 1 , wherein the first electrode and the initialization power line are disposed in a same layer and include a same conductive material.

10. The display device according to claim 1 , wherein the initialization power line has a mesh form.

11. The display device according to claim 1 , wherein the first conductive lines and the second conductive lines intersect each other to form three-way intersections or four-way intersections.

12. A display device, comprising:

pixels each comprising at least one transistor disposed on a substrate, a protective layer configured to cover the transistor, and a light-emitting element disposed over the protective layer and electrically connected to the transistor through a first contact hole passing through the protective layer;

scan lines and data lines coupled to the pixels;

a power line configured to supply driving power to the light-emitting elements of the pixels; and

an initialization power line disposed over the protective layer and configured to supply initialization power to the pixels,

wherein the transistor comprises an active pattern disposed on the substrate, a source electrode and a drain electrode coupled to the active pattern, a gate electrode disposed over the active pattern with a gate insulating layer interposed therebetween, and an interlayer insulating layer comprising a first interlayer insulating layer and a second interlayer insulating layer successively stacked and configured to cover the gate electrode,

wherein:

the initialization power line comprises a plurality of first conductive lines and second conductive lines; and

the first conductive lines and the second conductive lines are electrically connected to each other to form a plurality of closed loops and are spaced apart from the light-emitting elements; and

the initialization power line is electrically connected to a source or a drain of the transistor through a second contact hole passing through the protective layer.

13. The display device according to claim 12 ,

wherein the pixel further comprises a storage capacitor, and

wherein the storage capacitor comprises:

a lower electrode coupled to the gate electrode;

an upper electrode configured to overlap the lower electrode; and

the first interlayer insulating layer disposed between the lower electrode and the upper electrode.

14. The display device according to claim 13 ,

wherein the light-emitting element comprises a first electrode disposed over the protective layer, a light-emitting layer disposed over the first electrode, and a second electrode disposed over the light-emitting layer, and

wherein the power line is coupled to the first electrode through a third contact hole passing through the protective layer.

15. The display device according to claim 14 , wherein a voltage applied to the power line is higher than a voltage applied to the second electrode.

16. The display device according to claim 14 , wherein the first conductive lines and the second conductive lines are spaced apart from the first electrode.

17. The display device according to claim 16 , wherein a single light-emitting element is disposed in each area formed by intersection of the first conductive lines and the second conductive lines.

18. The display device according to claim 17 , wherein:

the initialization power line further comprises a contact portion extending from an intersection where one of first conductive lines and one of second conductive lines intersects each other; and

the contact portion has a shape protruding toward the first contact hole located in the each area.

19. The display device according to claim 16 ,

wherein portions of at least either the first conductive lines or the second conductive lines are removed, and

wherein a plurality of light-emitting elements are disposed in each area formed by intersection of the first conductive lines and the second conductive lines.

20. The display device according to claim 16 , wherein portions of at least either the first conductive lines or the second conductive lines are bent, and the bent portions are repeatedly formed.

21. The display device according to claim 20 ,

wherein the first conductive lines and the second conductive lines comprise a first region, and a second region coupled to the first region, and

wherein a width of the first region is greater than a width of the second region.

22. The display device according to claim 21 , wherein the first region is parallel with either the data lines or the scan lines.

23. The display device according to claim 14 , wherein the data lines are disposed over the second interlayer insulating layer, and the scan lines are disposed over the gate insulating layer.

24. The display device according to claim 12 , wherein the closed loops of the initialization power line are provided to surround at least one first electrode.

25. The display device according to claim 12 , wherein the first electrode and the initialization power line are disposed in a same layer and include a same conductive material.

26. The display device according to claim 12 , wherein the initialization power line has a mesh form.

27. The display device according to claim 12 , wherein the first conductive lines and the second conductive lines intersect each other to form three-way intersections or four-way intersections.

28. A display device, comprising:

a substrate comprising a pixel area and a peripheral area;

pixels disposed in the pixel area of the substrate, each of the pixels comprising at least one transistor and a light-emitting element comprising a pixel electrode and electrically connected to the transistor through a first contact hole passing through an insulating layer;

scan lines and data lines coupled to the pixels;

a power line configured to supply driving power to the light-emitting elements; and

an initialization power line configured to supply initialization power to the pixels,

wherein:

the initialization power line forms a plurality of closed loops, and the closed loops are provided to surround at least one pixel electrode; and

the initialization power line is electrically connected to a source or a drain of the transistor through a second contact hole passing through the insulating layer.
