System and method for automated optimization of financial assets
A financial management network is disclosed for optimizing interest return and/or deposit insurance coverage among a plurality of online accounts that may include one or more savings accounts and a checking account, by automatically allocating and transferring funds among the accounts without intervention of the account holder, in accordance with constraints that may be set by the financial management network, account holder, the account holder's financial advisor, and/or imposed by the associate financial institutions holding the accounts.
1. A method for permitting a third-party entity to gain access to an online account held by an account holder that is secured by a multi-factor authentication protocol, comprising the following steps performed by the third-party entity:
(1) accessing, via one or more processors, the online account using the account holder's credentials;
(2) receiving a multi-factor authentication request from the online account, the multi-factor authentication request indicating that a response is required from the account holder before further access to the online account is granted;
(3) transmitting the request to the account holder and receiving the response thereto from the account holder;
(4) transmitting the account holder's response to the online account to satisfy the multi-factor authentication request;
(5) assigning an endpoint using one or more processors, wherein the endpoint is stored in a database and associated with the online account;
(6) adding the endpoint to the online account; and
(7) utilizing the endpoint to permit the third-party entity to respond to subsequent multi-factor authentication requests without requiring a response to the subsequent multi-factor authentication requests by the account holder.
2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the endpoint includes an email address, a landline phone number, or a cellular phone number.
3. A method for permitting a third-party entity to gain access to an online account held by an account holder that is secured by a multi-factor authentication protocol, comprising steps performed by the third-party entity, as follows:
(1) accessing, via one or more processors, the online account using the account holder's credentials, wherein a multi-factor authentication response is required before further access to the online account is granted;
(2) querying a database, via one or more processors, to look up an endpoint previously associated with the online account;
(3) requesting from the online account, using one or more processors, to send a multi-factor authentication code to the endpoint;
(4) processing the multi-factor authentication code received by the endpoint from the online account to enable the third-party to respond to the multi-factor authentication request; and
(5) utilizing the multi-factor authentication code to further access the online account, without requiring a response to the multi-factor authentication request by the account holder.
