Abstract

Embodiments of the invention can relate to methods, systems, apparatuses directed to integration of computing networks, especially within supply chains, and use of information from these integrated networks to generate analytics. To generate such analytics, an analysis computer or payment processing network may receive purchase data. In various embodiments the purchase data may include a product identifier that is associated with a product or service that is involved in the purchase. Once the purchase transaction with the product identifier is received, consumption of inventory at the merchant or supplier may be tracked. Tracking the consumption of inventory may involve storing and using a relationship between the product identifier and the inventory.

transmitting, by the first computer, the authorization request message to a payment processing network computer, wherein the payment processing network computer is configured to:

convert the authorization request message from the first format to a second format, the second format being compliant with ISO 8583,

transmit the authorization request message in the second format to an issuer computer that issued the account number,

receive an authorization response message from the issuer computer,

transmit the authorization response message to the first computer,

calculate, based on the purchase data and inventory data associated with the product identifiers and at least one supplier, a demand for one or more products associated with the product identifiers, and

generate or modify at least one future purchase order for the one or more products based on the demand for the one or more products;

receiving, by the first computer, the authorization response message from the payment processing network computer that includes an approval of the payment transaction associated with the account number; and

receiving, by the first computer, the at least one future purchase order for the one or more products.

2. The method of claim 1 wherein the payment processing network computer is further configured to automatically transmit the at least one future purchase order for the one or more products to the at least one supplier.

3. The method of claim 1 wherein the payment processing network computer comprises a server computer.

4. A first computer comprising:

one or more processors; and

a storage medium comprising computer readable instructions configured to:

generate an authorization request message for a payment transaction, wherein the authorization request message comprises a first format that includes purchase data including product identifiers, and an account number for a portable consumer device;

transmit the authorization request message to a payment processing network computer, wherein the payment processing network computer is configured to:

convert the authorization request message from the first format to a second format, the second format being compliant with ISO 8583,

transmit the authorization request message in the second format to an issuer computer that issued the account number,

receive an authorization response message from the issuer computer,

transmit the authorization response message to the first computer,

calculate, based on the purchase data and inventory data associated with the product identifiers and at least one supplier, a demand for one or more products associated with the product identifiers, and

generate or modify at least one future purchase order for the one or more products based on the demand for the one or more products;

receive the authorization response message from the payment processing network computer that includes an approval of the payment transaction associated with the account number; and

receive the at least one future purchase order for the one or more products.
