Abstract

Provided is a system, method, and apparatus for enhancing search data using a search engine and a transaction handler. The method includes processing a plurality of in-person transactions initiated by a plurality of users, correlating a first plurality of searches performed by the plurality of users with the transaction data, processing a plurality of online transactions initiated by at least one user of the plurality of users, correlating at least one search performed by the at least one user that resulted in the search results with the transaction data corresponding to the plurality of online transactions that were based on the search results, and generating a profile for the at least one user based on the correlated data stored in the data warehouse.

2. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the at least one offer comprises an identifier corresponding to at least one search performed with the search engine.

3. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , further comprising:

selecting an advertisement based on the profile of the at least one user; and

providing the advertisement to be included in search results for searches performed by the at least one user with the search engine.

4. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , further comprising: adjusting or prioritizing a placement of an online advertisement based at least partially on the correlated data.

5. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , further comprising:

identifying a plurality of online advertisements that were displayed to the at least one user;

comparing the plurality of online advertisements to at least one of the transaction data corresponding to the plurality of in-person transactions and the transaction data corresponding to the plurality of in-person transactions based on the at least one offer;

determining that the at least one user purchased a product corresponding to an advertisement of the plurality of online advertisements; and

adjusting at least one of a placement and appearance of an online advertisement to be displayed to the at least one user based on the determination that the at least one user purchased the product corresponding to the advertisement of the plurality of online advertisements.

6. A system for enhancing search data using a search engine and a transaction handler, comprising:

a transaction handler configured in an electronic payment processing network, the electronic payment processing network including the transaction handler and at least one first computer in communication with the transaction handler and configured to receive payment for at least a portion of a plurality of transactions in the electronic payment processing network, wherein the transaction handler is in communication with the search engine, the transaction handler further configured to:

process a plurality of in-person transactions initiated by a plurality of users at point-of-sale terminals located at physical merchant stores based on redeeming at least one offer, the at least one offer linking the plurality of in-person transactions with searches performed by the plurality of users in the search engine;

process a plurality of online transactions initiated by at least one user of the plurality of users based upon search results generated by the search engine;

a data warehouse in communication with the transaction handler and configured to store transaction data; and

at least one processor associated with the transaction handler, the at least one processor configured to:

store, in the data warehouse, transaction data corresponding to the plurality of in-person transactions;

correlate, at the data warehouse, a first plurality of searches performed by the plurality of users with the search engine with the transaction data corresponding to the plurality of in-person transactions based on at least one identifier associated with the at least one offer, wherein each identifier of the at least one identifier identifies a search of the first plurality of searches;

store, in the data warehouse, transaction data corresponding to the plurality of online transactions;

correlate, at the data warehouse, at least one search performed by the at least one user that resulted in the search results with the transaction data corresponding to the plurality of online transactions that were based on the search results;

generate a profile for the at least one user based on the correlated data stored in the data warehouse;

generate at least one predictive model for the at least one user based at least partially on the profile; and

determine at least one predicted purchase by the at least one user based at least partially on the at least one predictive model and at least one search query inputted by the at least one user.

7. The system of claim 6 , wherein the at least one offer comprises an identifier corresponding to at least one search performed with the search engine.

8. The system of claim 6 , wherein the at least one processor is further configured to:

select an advertisement based on the profile of the at least one user; and

provide the advertisement to be included in search results for searches performed by the at least one user with the search engine.

9. The system of claim 6 , wherein the at least one processor is further configured to adjust or prioritize a placement of an online advertisement based at least partially on the correlated data.

10. The system of claim 6 , wherein the at least one processor is further configured to:
