Abstract

A wireless device receives, from a base station, message(s) indicating: a counter value(s) for a counter(s) of SR configuration(s) of the base station. Each SR configuration corresponds to a logical channel. SR(s) corresponding to an SR configuration(s) may be triggered in response to data becoming available to their logical channel(s). Counter(s) may be set to an initial value in response to no other SRs corresponding to the pending SR configuration(s). A random access preamble is transmitted to the base station in response to counter(s) reaching their counter value.

Claims (54)

1. A method comprising:

receiving, by a wireless device from a base station, one or more messages indicating:

a first counter value for a first counter of a first scheduling request (SR) configuration of the base station, wherein the first SR configuration corresponds to at least one first logical channel; and

a second counter value for a second counter of a second SR configuration of the base station, wherein the second SR configuration corresponds to at least one second logical channel;

selecting between the first SR configuration and the second SR configuration based on the wireless device determining which of the at least one first logical channel and the at least one second logical channel has data available for uplink transmission;

based on the first SR configuration being selected:

setting the first counter to a first initial value;

incrementing the first counter based on transmission of a first SR associated with the at least one first logical channel; and

transmitting, to the base station, a random access preamble in response to the first counter reaching the first counter value; and

based on the second SR configuration being selected:

setting the second counter to a second initial value;

incrementing the second counter based on transmission of a second SR associated with the at least one second logical channel; and

transmitting, to the base station, a random access preamble in response to the second counter reaching the second counter value.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the at least one first logical channel and the at least one second logical channel are for data transmission to a same base station.

3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the first initial value is zero.

4. The method of claim 1 , wherein the second initial value is zero.

5. The method of claim 1 , wherein the one or more messages indicate a first SR configuration index for the first SR configuration and a second SR configuration index for the second SR.

6. The method of claim 1 , wherein the one or more messages indicate that:

the at least one first logical channel corresponds to the first SR configuration; and

the at least one second logical channel corresponds to the second SR configuration.

7. The method of claim 1 , wherein:

the first SR configuration indicates one or more first SR prohibit timer values; and

the second SR configuration indicates one or more second SR prohibit timer values.

8. The method of claim 1 , wherein the at least one first logical channel corresponds to a first quality of service requirement and the at least one second logical channel corresponds to a second quality of service requirement.

9. The method of claim 1 , further comprising incrementing the first counter in response to transmitting the first SR.

10. The method of claim 1 , further comprising incrementing the second counter in response to transmitting the second SR.

11. The method of claim 1 , further comprising receiving, from the base station, a random access response.

12. A wireless device comprising:

one or more processors; and

memory storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the wireless device to:

receive, from a base station, one or more messages indicating:

a first counter value for a first counter of a first scheduling request (SR) configuration of the base station, wherein the first SR configuration corresponds to at least one first logical channel; and

a second counter value for a second counter of a second SR configuration of the base station, wherein the second SR configuration corresponds to at least one second logical channel;

select between the first SR configuration and the second SR configuration based on the wireless device determining which of the at least one first logical channel and the at least one second logical channel has data available for uplink transmission;

based on the first SR configuration being selected:

set the first counter to a first initial value;

increment the first counter based on transmission of a first SR associated with the at least one first logical channel; and

transmit, to the base station, a random access preamble in response to the first counter reaching the first counter value; and

based on the second SR configuration being selected:

set the second counter to a second initial value;

increment the second counter based on transmission of a second SR associated with the at least one second logical channel; and

transmit, to the base station, a random access preamble in response to the second counter reaching the second counter value.

13. The wireless device of claim 12 , wherein the at least one first logical channel and the at least one second logical channel are for data transmission to a same base station.

14. The wireless device of claim 12 , wherein the first initial value is zero.

15. The wireless device of claim 12 , wherein the second initial value is zero.

16. The wireless device of claim 12 , wherein the one or more messages indicate a first SR configuration index for the first SR configuration and a second SR configuration index for the second SR.

17. The wireless device of claim 12 , wherein the one or more messages indicate that:

the at least one first logical channel corresponds to the first SR configuration; and

the at least one second logical channel corresponds to the second SR configuration.

18. The wireless device of claim 12 , wherein:

the first SR configuration indicates one or more first SR prohibit timer values; and

the second SR configuration indicates one or more second SR prohibit timer values.

19. The wireless device of claim 12 , wherein the at least one first logical channel corresponds to a first quality of service requirement and the at least one second logical channel corresponds to a second quality of service requirement.

20. The wireless device of claim 12 , wherein the instructions, when executed, further cause the wireless device to increment the first counter in response to transmitting the first SR.
