Abstract

This application provides a cell reselection method and apparatus. The method includes: measuring, by a terminal, reference signals of X neighboring cells that work on a target frequency, to obtain X signal measurement values; and if the terminal determines that signal measurement values of N cells in the X neighboring cells meet a cell reselection condition, using, by the terminal as a reselected cell when determining that there is at least one evolved long term evolution cell in the N cells, a cell with a largest signal measurement value in the at least one evolved long term evolution cell.

Claims (42)

1. A method, comprising:

receiving, by a terminal, network type indication information from an access network device via broadcast information, wherein the network type indication information indicates a deployment configuration of a cell, and when the cell is a new radio (NR) cell, the deployment configuration indicated by the network type indication information indicates whether the cell is deployed as a non-standalone new radio (NSA NR) cell or whether the cell is deployed as a standalone new radio (SA NR) cell;

determining, by the terminal, a deployment configuration of the cell based on the network type indication information; and

performing, by the terminal, cell selection or cell reselection based on the deployment configuration of the cell.

2. The method according to claim 1 , wherein performing cell selection or cell reselection based on the deployment configuration of the cell comprises:

barring the cell from the cell selection or the cell reselection in response to the deployment configuration of the cell being a NSA NR cell.

3. The method according to claim 2 , wherein barring the cell from the cell selection or the cell reselection in response to the deployment configuration of the cell being a NSA NR cell comprises:

barring the cell from the cell selection in response to the deployment configuration of the cell being a NSA NR cell.

4. The method according to claim 2 , wherein barring the cell from the cell selection or the cell reselection in response to the deployment configuration of the cell being a NSA NR cell comprises:

barring the cell from the cell reselection in response to the deployment configuration of the cell being a NSA NR cell.

5. The method according to claim 1 , wherein the network type indication information indicates the cell is deployed as a NSA NR cell.

6. The method according to claim 1 , wherein the network type indication information indicates the cell is deployed as a SA NR cell.

7. An apparatus, comprising:

a processor; and

a non-transitory memory, where the non-transitory memory stores a computer executable instruction, the processor executes the computer executable instruction to cause the apparatus to perform:

receiving network type indication information from an access network device via broadcast information, wherein the network type indication information indicates a deployment configuration of a cell, and when the cell is a new radio (NR) cell, the deployment configuration indicated by the network type indication information indicates whether the cell is deployed as a non-standalone new radio (NSA NR) cell or whether the cell is deployed as a standalone new radio (SA NR) cell;

determining a deployment configuration of the cell based on the network type indication information; and

performing cell selection or cell reselection based on the determined deployment configuration of the cell, wherein cell selection or cell reselection comprises selecting a target cell for camping.

8. The apparatus according to claim 7 , wherein performing cell selection or cell reselection based on the determined deployment configuration of the cell comprises:

barring the cell from the cell selection or the cell reselection in response to the deployment configuration of the cell being a NSA NR cell.

9. The apparatus according to claim 8 , wherein barring the cell from the cell selection or the cell reselection in response to the deployment configuration of the cell being a NSA NR cell comprises:

barring the cell from the cell selection in response to the deployment configuration of the cell being a NSA NR cell.

10. The apparatus according to claim 8 , wherein barring the cell from the cell selection or the cell reselection in response to the deployment configuration of the cell being a NSA NR cell comprises:

barring the cell from the cell reselection in response to the deployment configuration of the cell being a NSA NR cell.

11. The apparatus according to claim 7 , wherein the network type indication information indicates the cell is deployed as a NSA NR cell.

12. The apparatus according to claim 7 , wherein the network type indication information indicates the cell is deployed as a SA NR cell.

13. A non-transitory computer readable medium having stored computer programs, the computer programs being executable by one or more processors, and when executed, the computer programs cause the one or more processors to:

receive network type indication information from an access network device via broadcast information, wherein the network type indication information indicates a deployment configuration of a cell, and when the cell is a new radio (NR) cell, the deployment configuration indicated by the network type indication information indicates whether the cell is deployed as a non-standalone new radio (NSA NR) cell or whether the cell is deployed as a standalone new radio (SA NR) cell;

determine a deployment configuration of the cell based on the network type indication information; and

perform cell selection or cell reselection based on the determined deployment configuration of the cell, wherein cell selection or cell reselection comprises selecting a target cell for camping.

14. The non-transitory computer readable medium according to claim 13 , wherein performing cell selection or cell reselection based on the deployment configuration of the cell comprises:

barring the cell from the cell selection or the cell reselection in response to the deployment configuration of the cell being a NSA NR cell.

15. The non-transitory computer readable according to claim 14 , wherein barring the cell from the cell selection or the cell reselection in response to the deployment configuration of the cell being a NSA NR cell comprises:

barring the cell from the cell selection in response to the deployment configuration of the cell being a NSA NR cell.

16. The non-transitory computer readable according to claim 14 , wherein barring the cell from the cell selection or the cell reselection in response to the deployment configuration of the cell being a NSA NR cell comprises:

barring the cell from the cell reselection in response to the deployment configuration of the cell being a NSA NR cell.
