Abstract

The present disclosure is directed towards analyzing traffic across multiple media channels via encoded links. The method may include receiving, by a server of a media channel analysis system, identification of a plurality of media channels for which to generate encoded links to a resource, generating, by the server, different links encoded by the server and linked to the resource, assigning, by the server, a respective encoded link of the generated encoded links to each of the identified media channels, determining, by the server, for each of the identified media channels, statistics related to traffic corresponding to the respective encoded link and providing, by the server, an output comprising at least a portion of the statistics.

The system of claim 1 , wherein the at least one server is further configured to maintain, on a database, a plurality of entries using the activity tracked via at least one of the first encoded link or via the second encoded link, each entry of the plurality of entries identifying at least one of the first encoded link or the second encoded link, at least one of the first media channel or the second media channel, and the resource accessible via the first encoded link and the second encoded link.

8. The system of claim 1 , wherein the at least one server is further configured to provide an output based on at least one of the first metric for the first media channel and the second metric for the second media channel, the first metric identifying the first number of resources to access the resource via the first encoded link distributed through the first media channel, the second metric identifying the second number of requests to access the resource via the second encoded link distributed through the second media channel.

9. The system of claim 1 , wherein the at least one server is further configured to rank the first media channel and the second media channel in accessing the resource based on the first metric for the first media channel and the second metric for the second media channel.

10. A method of analyzing traffic across media channels, comprising:

receiving, by a server having one or more processors, from a first computing device, a request to generate encoded links for a resource of a first entity, the request identifying a first media channel, a second media channel, and a resource;

generating, by the server, a first encoded link for the first media channel and a second encoded link for the second media channel, the first encoded link and the second encoded link used to access the resource via the server;

storing, by the server, in one or more data structures, a first association between the first encoded link with the first media channel and a second association between the second encoded link with the second media channel;

providing, by the server, to the first computing device, the first encoded link and the second encoded link, the first encoded link to be distributed via the first media channel, the second encoded link to be distributed via the second media channel;

determining, by the server, for the first media channel, a first metric based on a first number of requests to access the resource responsive to a first interaction with the first encoded link;

determining, by the server, for the second media channel, a second metric based on a second number of requests to access the resource responsive to a second interaction with the second encoded link; and

providing, by the server, for the resource of the first entity, a report generated based on the first metric and the second metric.

11. The method of claim 10 , wherein tracking further comprises:

monitoring for an interaction by one or more second computing devices with an encoded link corresponding to one of the first encoded link or the second encoded link to access the resource;
