Abstract

A method, computer program product, and computer system for providing, by a computing device, a session of an application, wherein the session may include a sub-session configured to exchange data with a plurality of endpoint devices. The computing device may receive a stream of data from an endpoint device outside the plurality of endpoint devices and that controls the session. The computing device may provide data to at least one of the plurality of endpoint devices, wherein the data may include the stream of data from the endpoint device that controls the session and another stream of data from a different endpoint device of the plurality of endpoint devices.

Claims (38)

1. A method comprising:

providing, by a computing device, a session of an application, the session including a sub-session configured to exchange data with a plurality of endpoint devices;

receiving, by the computing device, a stream of data from an endpoint device outside the plurality of endpoint devices and that controls the session; and

providing, by the computing device, data to at least one of the plurality of endpoint devices, the data including the stream of data from the endpoint device that controls the session and another stream of data from a different endpoint device of the plurality of endpoint devices.

2. The method of claim 1 wherein the plurality of endpoint devices are unable to stream data to the session.

3. The method of claim 1 wherein the stream of data is one of a mixed data stream and a scalable video coded data stream, wherein the mixed data stream is a data stream that includes a plurality of data streams mixed at the computing device and forwarded as a single data stream from the computing device, and wherein the scalable video coded data stream is a data stream that includes a plurality of data streams separately forwarded from the computing device.

4. The method of claim 1 further comprising providing a command to the at least one of the plurality of endpoint devices to take an action at the at least one of the plurality of endpoint devices.

5. The method of claim 1 further comprising muting the sub-session so that each of the plurality of endpoint devices is unable to stream data to another endpoint device of the plurality of endpoint devices.

6. The method of claim 1 further comprising:

receiving, by the computing device, a stream of data from the at least one of the plurality of endpoint devices via the sub-session; and

providing, by the computing device, the stream of data from the at least one of the plurality of endpoint devices to the session to enable provision of the stream of data to at least one of another sub-session and the endpoint device that controls the session.

7. The method of claim 6 wherein providing the stream of data from the at least one of the plurality of endpoint devices to the session to enable provision of the stream of data to at least one of another sub-session and the endpoint device that controls the session includes providing the stream of data from the session instead of the sub-session.

8. The method of claim 1 , wherein the stream of data is (1) a plurality of data streams mixed at the computing device and forwarded as a single data stream from the computing device, or (2) a plurality of data streams separately forwarded from the computing device.

9. A computer program product residing on a non-transitory computer readable storage medium having a plurality of instructions stored thereon which, when executed by one or more processors, causes the one or more processors to perform operations comprising:

providing, by a computing device, a session of an application, the session including a sub-session configured to exchange data with a plurality of endpoint devices;

receiving, by the computing device, a stream of data from an endpoint device outside the plurality of endpoint devices and that controls the session; and

providing, by the computing device, data to at least one of the plurality of endpoint devices, the data including the stream of data from the endpoint device that controls the session and another stream of data from a different endpoint device of the plurality of endpoint devices.

10. The computer program product of claim 9 wherein the plurality of endpoint devices are unable to stream data to the session.

11. The computer program product of claim 9 wherein the stream of data is one of a mixed data stream and a scalable video coded data stream, wherein the mixed data stream is a data stream that includes a plurality of data streams mixed at the computing device and forwarded as a single data stream from the computing device, and wherein the scalable video coded data stream is a data stream that includes a plurality of data streams separately forwarded from the computing device.

12. The computer program product of claim 9 wherein the operations further comprise providing a command to the at least one of the plurality of endpoint devices to take an action on the at least one of the plurality of endpoint devices.

13. The computer program product of claim 9 wherein the operations further comprise taking an action at the sub-session so that each of the plurality of endpoint devices is unable to stream data to another endpoint device of the plurality of endpoint devices.

14. The computer program product of claim 9 wherein the operations further comprise:

receiving, by the computing device, a stream of data from the at least one of the plurality of endpoint devices via the sub-session; and

providing, by the computing device, the stream of data from the at least one of the plurality of endpoint devices to the session to enable provision of the stream of data to at least one of another sub-session and the endpoint device that controls the session.

15. The computer program product of claim 14 wherein providing the stream of data from the at least one of the plurality of endpoint devices to the session to enable provision of the stream of data to at least one of another sub-session and the endpoint device that controls the session includes providing the stream of data from the session instead of the sub-session.

16. A computing system comprising:

a memory; and

at least one processor in communication with the memory, the at least one processor configured to:

provide, by a computing device, a session of an application, the session including a sub-session configured to exchange data with a plurality of endpoint devices;

receive, by the computing device, a stream of data from an endpoint device outside the plurality of endpoint devices and that controls the session; and

provide, by the computing device, data to at least one of the plurality of endpoint devices, the data including the stream of data from the endpoint device that controls the session and another stream of data from a different endpoint device of the plurality of endpoint devices.

17. The computing system of claim 16 wherein the plurality of endpoint devices are unable to stream data to the session.

18. The computing system of claim 16 wherein the stream of data is one of a mixed data stream and a scalable video coded data stream, wherein the mixed data stream is a data stream that includes a plurality of data streams mixed at the computing device and forwarded as a single data stream from the computing device, and wherein the scalable video coded data stream is a data stream that includes a plurality of data streams separately forwarded from the computing device.

19. The computing system of claim 16 wherein the at least one processor is further configured to provide a command to the at least one of the plurality of endpoint devices to mute the at least one of the plurality of endpoint devices.

20. The computing system of claim 16 wherein the at least one processor is further configured to take an action to configure the sub-session so that each of the plurality of endpoint devices is unable to stream data to another endpoint device of the plurality of endpoint devices.

21. The computing system of claim 16 wherein the at least one processor is further configured to:

receive, by the computing device, a stream of data from the at least one of the plurality of endpoint devices via the sub-session; and

provide, by the computing device, the stream of data from the at least one of the plurality of endpoint devices to the session to enable provision of the stream of data to at least one of another sub-session and the endpoint device that controls the session, wherein providing the stream of data from the at least one of the plurality of endpoint devices to the session to enable provision of the stream of data to at least one of another sub-session and the endpoint device that controls the session includes providing the stream of data from the session instead of the sub-session.
