Abstract

A wireless device transmits uplink data via a first configured grant resource of a first cell of a plurality of cells. The wireless device determines a second cell from the plurality of cells to transition from a dormant state to a non-dormant state, where the determining is based on the second cell being configured with a control resource set for receiving uplink grants for retransmission of the uplink data. In response to the transmitting, the wireless device transitions the second cell from the dormant state to the non-dormant state. The wireless device receives an uplink grant via the second cell, wherein the uplink grant indicates a radio resource. Based on the uplink grant, the wireless device retransmits the uplink data via the radio resource.

Claims (49)

1. A method comprising:

transmitting, by a wireless device, uplink data via a first configured grant resource of a first cell of a plurality of cells;

determining a second cell from the plurality of cells to transition from a dormant state to a non-dormant state, wherein the determining is based on the second cell being configured with a control resource set for receiving uplink grants for retransmission of the uplink data;

in response to the transmitting, transitioning the second cell from the dormant state to the non-dormant state;

receiving an uplink grant, via the second cell, indicating a radio resource; and

retransmitting, via the radio resource, the uplink data.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the second cell is the first cell based on the first cell being configured with self-carrier scheduling on the first cell.

3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the second cell is a scheduling cell for the first cell based on the second cell being configured with cross-carrier scheduling on the first cell.

4. The method of claim 1 , wherein the wireless device transmits the uplink data via the first configured grant resource of the first cell, wherein the first cell is in the dormant state.

5. The method of claim 4 , further comprising maintaining the first configured grant resource without clearing the first configured grant resource in response to transitioning the first cell to the dormant state.

6. The method of claim 1 , further comprising stopping monitoring for a first downlink control information (DCI), via one or more control resource sets of the second cell, comprising a first resource assignment for the first cell in response to transitioning the first cell to the dormant state.

7. The method of claim 6 , further comprising starting monitoring for a second DCI, via the one or more control resource sets of the second cell, comprising a second resource assignment for the first cell in response to transitioning the first cell to the non-dormant state.

8. The method of claim 1 , further comprising receiving one or more messages comprising configuration parameters of a power saving state inactivity timer (PS-inactivityTimer) for the first cell.

9. The method of claim 8 , further comprising starting the PS-inactivityTimer in response to transmitting the uplink data via the first configured grant resource of the first cell.

10. The method of claim 9 , further comprising transitioning the first cell to the dormant state in response to an expiry of the PS-inactivityTimer.

11. A wireless device comprising:

one or more processors; and

memory storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the wireless device to:

transmit uplink data via a first configured grant resource of a first cell of a plurality of cells;

determine a second cell from the plurality of cells to transition from a dormant state to a non-dormant state based on the second cell being configured with a control resource set for receiving uplink grants for retransmission of the uplink data;

in response to transmitting the uplink data via the first configured grant resource, transition the second cell from the dormant state to the non-dormant state;

receive an uplink grant, via the second cell, indicating a radio resource; and

retransmit, via the radio resource, the uplink data.

12. The wireless device of claim 11 , wherein the second cell is the first cell based on the first cell being configured with self-carrier scheduling on the first cell.

13. The wireless device of claim 11 , wherein the second cell is a scheduling cell for the first cell based on the second cell being configured with cross-carrier scheduling on the first cell.

14. The wireless device of claim 11 , wherein the wireless device transmits the uplink data via the first configured grant resource of the first cell, wherein the first cell is in the dormant state.

15. The wireless device of claim 14 , wherein the instructions, when executed by the one or more processors, further cause the wireless device to maintain the first configured grant resource without clearing the first configured grant resource in response to transitioning the first cell to the dormant state.

16. The wireless device of claim 11 , wherein the instructions, when executed by the one or more processors, further cause the wireless device to stop monitoring for a first downlink control information (DCI), via one or more control resource sets of the second cell, comprising a first resource assignment for the first cell in response to transitioning the first cell to the dormant state.

The wireless device of claim 16 , wherein the instructions, when executed by the one or more processors, further cause the wireless device to start monitoring for a second DCI, via the one or more control resource sets of the second cell, comprising a second resource assignment for the first cell in response to transitioning the first cell to the non-dormant state.

18. The wireless device of claim 11 , wherein the instructions, when executed by the one or more processors, further cause the wireless device to receive one or more messages comprising configuration parameters of a power saving state inactivity timer (PS-inactivityTimer) for the first cell.

19. A system comprising:

a wireless device comprising:

one or more first processors; and

a first memory storing first instructions that, when executed by the one or more first processors, cause the wireless device to:

transmit uplink data via a first configured grant resource of a first cell of a plurality of cells;

determine a second cell from the plurality of cells to transition from a dormant state to a non-dormant state based on the second cell being configured with a control resource set for receiving uplink grants for retransmission of the uplink data;

in response to transmitting the uplink data via the first configured grant resource, transition the second cell from the dormant state to the non-dormant state;

receive an uplink grant, via the second cell, indicating a radio resource; and

retransmit, via the radio resource, the uplink data; and

a base station comprising:

one or more second processors; and

a second memory storing second instructions that, when executed by the one or more second processors, cause the base station to:

receive from the wireless device:

the uplink data via the first configured grant resource; and

the retransmission of the uplink data via the radio resource;

transmit to the wireless device:

the uplink grant; and

the configuration of the control resource set.

20. The system of claim 19 , wherein the first instructions, when executed by the one or more first processors, further cause the wireless device to receive one or more messages comprising configuration parameters of a power saving state inactivity timer (PS-inactivityTimer) for the first cell.
