Abstract

Embodiments of the present disclosure describe methods and apparatuses for sidelink control information for vehicle-to-vehicle communications.

Claims (47)

1. One or more non-transitory computer-readable media comprising instructions, wherein execution of the instructions by one or more processors is to cause a user equipment (UE) to:

generate a sidelink control information (SCI) format 1 message to schedule a physical sidelink shared channel (PSSCH), the SCI format 1 message to include a 1-bit transmission format field to include either a first value or a second value,

the first value to indicate that the PSSCH is to be transmitted with a transmission format that is to include transport block size (TBS)-scaling and rate-matching instead of puncturing, and

the second value to indicate that the PSSCH is to be transmitted with a transmission format that is to include no TBS scaling and puncturing instead of rate-matching; and

transmit or broadcast the SCI.

2. The one or more non-transitory computer-readable media of claim 1 , wherein the first value is 1.

3. The one or more non-transitory computer-readable media of claim 1 , wherein the second value is 0.

4. The one or more non-transitory computer-readable media of claim 1 , wherein execution of the instructions is to further cause the UE to:

transmit the PSSCH.

5. The one or more non-transitory computer-readable media of claim 1 , wherein the SCI is further to include a bit to indicate modulation and coding scheme (MCS) table selection information.

6. The one or more non-transitory computer-readable media of claim 1 , wherein the SCI is to further to include a 1-bit field to indicate transmit diversity information.

7. The one or more non-transitory computer-readable media of claim 1 , wherein the SCI is further to include a 1-bit field to indicate physical sidelink control channel (PSCCH) power boosting information.

8. An apparatus to be implemented in a user equipment (UE), comprising:

processing circuitry, to:

generate a sidelink control information (SCI) format 1 message to schedule a physical sidelink shared channel (PSSCH), the SCI format 1 message to include a 1-bit field to include either a first value or a second value,

the first value to indicate that the PSSCH is to be transmitted with a transmission format that is to include transport block size (TBS)-scaling and rate-matching instead of puncturing, and

the second value to indicate that the PSSCH is to be transmitted with a transmission format that is to include no TBS scaling and puncturing instead of rate-matching, and

provide the SCI to radiofrequency (RF) circuitry for transmission to one or more other UEs; and

memory circuitry, coupled with the processing circuitry, to store the SCI.

9. The apparatus of claim 8 , wherein a value of 1 for the 1-bit field is to indicate that the PSSCH is to be transmitted with a transmission format that is to include rate-matching and TBS scaling.

10. The apparatus of claim 8 , wherein a value of 0 for the 1-bit field is to indicate that the PSSCH is to be transmitted with a transmission format that is to include puncturing and no TBS scaling.

11. The apparatus of claim 8 , wherein the SCI is further to include another 1-bit field to indicate modulation and coding scheme (MCS) table selection information.

12. The apparatus of claim 8 , wherein the SCI is to further to include another 1-bit field to indicate transmit diversity information.

13. The apparatus of claim 8 , wherein the SCI is further to include another 1-bit field to indicate physical sidelink control channel (PSCCH) power boosting information.

14. An apparatus to be implemented in a base station, the apparatus comprising:

processing circuitry, to:

generate downlink control information (DCI) to schedule a physical sidelink shared channel (PSSCH), the DCI to at least include a 1-bit field including either a first value or a second value,

the first value to indicate that the PSSCH is to be transmitted with a transmission format that is to include transport block size (TBS)-scaling and rate-matching instead of puncturing, and

the second value to indicate that the PSSCH is to be transmitted with a transmission format that is to include no TBS scaling and puncturing instead of rate-matching, and

provide the DCI to radiofrequency (RF) circuitry for transmission to one or more user equipment (UEs); and

memory circuitry, coupled with the processing circuitry, to store the DCI.

15. The apparatus of claim 14 , wherein the DCI is in a DCI Format 5A.

16. The apparatus of claim 14 , wherein the 1-bit field is to indicate rate-matching information of the PSSCH.

17. The apparatus of claim 14 , wherein the 1-bit field is to indicate modulation and coding scheme (MCS) table selection information of the PSSCH.

18. The apparatus of claim 14 , wherein the 1-bit field is to indicate transmit diversity information of the PSSCH.

19. A System on Chip (SoC) to be implemented in a user equipment (UE), the SoC comprising:

baseband circuitry and interface circuitry, wherein:

the interface circuitry is communicatively coupled with the baseband circuitry and with radiofrequency (RF) circuitry, and

the baseband circuitry is configurable to:

generate a sidelink control information (SCI) format 1 message to schedule a physical sidelink shared channel (PSSCH), the SCI format 1 message to include a 1-bit field with a first value or a second value,

when the 1-bit field includes the first value, the PSSCH is to be transmitted with a transmission format that is to include transport block size (TBS)-scaling and rate-matching instead of puncturing, and

when the 1-bit field includes the second value, the PSSCH is to be transmitted with a transmission format that is to include no TBS scaling and puncturing instead of rate-matching, and

provide the SCI format 1 message to the RF circuitry via the interface circuitry; and

a memory circuitry, coupled with the baseband circuitry, to store the SCI format 1 message.

20. The SoC of claim 19 , wherein the first value is “1” and the second value is “0”.

21. The SoC of claim 19 , wherein the SCI format 1 message further includes another field having one or more bits to indicate physical sidelink control channel (PSCCH) power boosting information, and wherein the one or more bits are to identify a PSCCH power boosting value.

22. The SoC of claim 19 , wherein the SCI format 1 message further includes another field having one or more bits to indicate modulation and coding scheme (MCS) table selection information, and wherein the MCS table selection information is to identify an MCS table selected.
