Abstract

Illustrative configurations of a pet hydration system and methods are disclosed. The pet hydration system includes a bowl section configured to temporarily store water therein. In one configuration, a hydrogen-generation assembly is positioned in the bowl section. The hydrogen-generation assembly generates and introduces hydrogen into the water temporarily stored in the bowl section. In other configurations, methods related to pet hydration are also disclosed.

Claims (105)

1. A pet hydration system comprising:

a tray comprising:

an upper surface; and

a bowl section formed on the upper surface of the tray, the bowl section configured to temporarily store water; and the bowl section comprising:

a base defining an inner surface;

a hydrogen-generation assembly positioned at the base of the bowl section, the hydrogen-generation assembly comprising:

a cathode plate comprising:

a hole formed in the cathode plate;

an anode plate formed parallel to and offset from the cathode plate, the anode plate comprising:

a hole formed in the anode plate; and

a spacer between the cathode plate and the anode plate, the spacer comprising:

a hole formed in the spacer;

wherein the holes of the cathode plate, the anode plate, and the spacer are concentrically aligned to define a light path;

wherein the hydrogen-generation assembly of the cathode plate, the anode plate, and the spacer is configured to generate and combine hydrogen into the water in the bowl section; and

an illumination source coaxial to the holes and configured to illuminate hydrogen generated by the hydrogen-generation assembly along the light path.

2. The pet hydration system of claim 1 , wherein each of the cathode plate, the anode plate, and the spacer comprises:

a circular perimeter.

3. The pet hydration system of claim 1 , wherein the illumination source comprises:

a blue-color light source configured in a Light Emitting Diode (LED).

4. The pet hydration system of claim 1 , wherein the base of the bowl section further comprises:

an outer surface oppositely disposed from the upper surface;

wherein the illumination source is positioned on the outer surface.

5. The pet hydration system of claim 1 , wherein the bowl section further comprises:

a frustum defining a central axis, the frustum comprising:

a first planar surface transverse to the central axis;

a second planar surface transverse to the central axis;

a third planar surface transverse to the central axis; and

a fourth planar surface transverse to the central axis.

6. The pet hydration system of claim 1 and further comprising:

a reservoir section formed in the tray opposite the bowl section and configured to receive a water reservoir;

wherein the water reservoir is configured to be removably attached to the reservoir section;

wherein the reservoir section is configured to dynamically supply water from the water reservoir to the bowl section in response to water in the bowl section lowering below a predefined level; and

a gravity-fed chute formed in the tray between the reservoir section and the bowl section.

7. The pet hydration system of claim 6 , wherein the tray further comprises:

a cartridge slot formed along the gravity-fed chute; and

a filter cartridge removably positioned in the cartridge slot;

wherein the filter cartridge is configured to filter water flowing from the reservoir section towards the bowl section.

8. The pet hydration system of claim 1 and further comprising: a channel formed in the bowl section and directed at the hydrogen-generation assembly;

wherein the channel is configured to guide water emitted from the channel towards the hydrogen-generation assembly.

9. The pet hydration system of claim 1 and further comprising:

a set of slots formed in the base of the bowl section, the set of slots configured to receive the hydrogen-generation assembly.

10. The pet hydration system of claim 1 and further comprising:

a perforated sheet adjacent to the hydrogen-generation assembly, the perforated sheet configured to obstruct a user from contacting the hydrogen-generation assembly.

11. The pet hydration system of claim 1 and further comprising:

a circuit board operationally attached to the illumination source;

a red-colored light source formed in the illumination source; and

a sound source operationally attached to the circuit board;

wherein the sound source is configured to emit a sound when water is below a predetermined level; and

wherein the red-colored light source is configured to emit a red spectrum light when water is below a predetermined level.

12. A method of supplying hydrogenated water from a pet hydration system, the method comprising:

providing the pet hydration system comprising:

a tray comprising:

a bowl section configured to temporarily store water, the bowl section comprising:

a hydrogen-generation assembly positioned at a base of the bowl section, the hydrogen-generation assembly configured to generate and combine hydrogen into the water in the bowl section; and

a water reservoir controllingly and fluidically coupled to the bowl section;

upon detecting a filled volume of water in the bowl section, turning ON the hydrogen-generation assembly;

during a predetermined runtime of the hydrogen-generation assembly, generating and combining hydrogen into the water in the bowl section;

upon expiration of the predetermined runtime, turning OFF the hydrogen-generation assembly;

during a predetermined downtime of the hydrogen-generation assembly, monitoring for presence of a depleted volume of water in the bowl section;

upon expiration of the predetermined downtime and presence of the filled volume of water in the bowl section, turning ON the hydrogen-generation assembly; and

maintaining the filled volume of water in the bowl section;

wherein maintaining the filled volume of water in the bowl section comprises:

upon removal of a volume of water from the bowl section and presence of the depleted volume of water, receiving water from the water reservoir in the bowl section;

upon achieving the filled volume of water in the bowl section, stopping the receiving of water from the water reservoir; and

thereby, supplying hydrogenated water from the pet hydration system.

13. The method of claim 12 , wherein the hydrogen-generation assembly is turned OFF, based on occurrence at least one of:

upon expiration of the predetermined runtime after turning ON of the hydrogen-generation assembly;

upon detecting the depleted volume of water in the bowl section, and

upon detecting a level of hydrogen concentration in the water in the bowl section being equal to a threshold hydrogen concentration value.

14. The method of claim 12 , further comprising:

turning ON the hydrogen-generation assembly based on at least one of:

upon expiration of the predetermined downtime after the turning OFF the hydrogen-generation assembly; and

upon detecting a level of hydrogen concentration in the water in the bowl section being below a threshold hydrogen concentration value.

15. The method of claim 12 , further comprising:

monitoring for the depleted volume of the bowl section;

wherein the depleted volume is indicative of the volume of water in the bowl section falling below the filled volume of water; and

upon detecting the depleted volume, turning OFF the hydrogen-generation assembly and turning ON a sound source and turning ON a red-color Light Emitting Diode (LED).

16. The method of claim 12 , wherein providing the hydrogen-generation assembly comprises providing:

a cathode plate;

an anode plate parallel to and offset from the cathode plate;

a spacer between the cathode plate and the anode plate; and

wherein the cathode plate, the anode plate, and the spacer are stacked; and

wherein assembly of the cathode plate, the anode plate, and the spacer is configured to generate and introduce hydrogen into the water temporarily stored in the bowl section; and

upon turning ON the hydrogen-generation assembly, creating a voltage differential between the anode plate and the cathode plate.

17. The method of claim 12 , wherein providing the pet hydration system further comprises providing:

an illumination source configured to emit light via a light path to accentuate generation of hydrogen by the hydrogen-generation assembly; and

upon turning ON the hydrogen-generation assembly, turning ON the illumination source to illuminate bubbles formed in the water in the bowl section during hydrogen generation.

18. A method of hydrogenating water in a pet hydration system, the method comprising:

receiving water in a gravity-fed chute from a reservoir section;

wherein the reservoir section and the gravity-fed chute are defined in a tray of the pet hydration system; and

wherein the reservoir section is configured to dynamically supply water to a bowl section defined in the tray, in response to water being removed from the bowl section;

passing the water through a filter cartridge positioned in the gravity-fed chute;

wherein the filter cartridge is configured to filter the water flowing from the reservoir section towards the bowl section and passing through the filter cartridge;

receiving filtered water from the gravity-fed chute into the bowl section;

turning ON a hydrogen-generation assembly provided in the bowl section; and

turning OFF the hydrogen-generation assembly, based on at least one of:

upon lapsing of a predetermined period of time after turning ON of the hydrogen-generation assembly;

upon detecting a level of hydrogen concentration in the water in the bowl section being equal to a threshold hydrogen concentration value; and

upon detecting a volume of water in the bowl section falling below a filled volume of water.

19. The method of claim 18 ,

wherein the reservoir section is defined towards a second longitudinal end of the tray;

wherein the bowl section is defined towards a first longitudinal end of the tray; and

wherein the gravity-fed chute is defined in the tray between the reservoir section and the bowl section.

20. The method of claim 19 , further comprising:

turning ON a set of illumination sources to illuminate bubbles formed in the water in the bowl section during hydrogen generation.
