Abstract

A compound having a structure of the formula Ir(L A )(L B ), in which L A is a bidentate, tridentate, tetradentate, pentadentate, or hexadentate ligand and L B is a monodentate, bidentate, tridentate, or tetradentate ligand, or not present, and where the total denticity of L A plus L B is 6, and L A includes at least one structure of Formula I: is disclosed as a useful phosphorescent emitter compound.

wherein (L y -L z -Link q ) is a tetradentate ligand formed by linking bindentate ligand L y and bidentate ligand L z with Link q ;
