Abstract

A wireless communication system includes one or more base stations able to divide resources between multiple network operators sharing the base station. A shared base station is configured to monitor a contribution to the load on the base station associated with network operators sharing the base station resources and to provide the determined contribution to the load to one or more other base stations for use in load balancing between the base stations.

Claims (30)

1. A user equipment (UE) configured to communicate with a radio access network (RAN) node supporting a RAN sharing by at least one operator, each of the at least one operator being associated with a respective Public Land Mobile Network (PLMN) identity, the UE comprising:

at least one memory storing instructions; and

at least one processor configured to process the instructions to control the UE to:

receive a system information block (SIB) that includes first information related to at least one access class barring (ac-barring) per each of a plurality of PLMNs,

wherein the first information per each of the plurality of PLMNs includes:

second information related to the PLMN identity, third information related to an access category, and

at least one ac barring parameter specific to the third information related to the access category.

2. A method for a user equipment (UE) configured to communicate with a radio access network (RAN) node supporting a RAN sharing by at least one operator, each of the at least one operator being associated with a respective Public Land Mobile Network (PLMN) identity, the method comprising:

receiving a system information block (SIB) that includes first information related to at least one access class barring (ac-barring) per each of a plurality of PLMNs,

wherein the first information per each of the plurality of PLMNs includes:

second information related to

the PLMN identity,

third information related to an access category, and

at least one ac barring parameter specific to the third information related to the access category.

3. A radio access network (RAN) node configured to support RAN sharing by at least one operator, each of the at least one operator being associated with a respective Public Land Mobile Network (PLMN) identity, the RAN node comprising:

at least one memory storing instructions; and

at least one processor configured to process the instructions to control the UE to:

transmit a system information block (SIB) that includes first information related to at least one access class barring (ac-barring) per each of a plurality of PLMNs,

wherein the first information per each of the plurality of PLMNs includes:

second information related to

the PLMN identity,

third information related to an access category, and

at least one ac barring parameter specific to the third information related to the access category.

4. A method for a radio access network (RAN) node configured to support RAN sharing by at least one operator, each of the at least one operator being associated with a respective Public Land Mobile Network (PLMN) identity, the method comprising:

transmitting a system information block (SIB) that includes first information related to at least one access class barring (ac-barring) per each of a plurality of PLMNs,

wherein the first information per each of the plurality of PLMNs includes:

the ac-barring per PLMN entry including:

the PLMN identity,

third information related to an access category, and

at least one ac barring parameter specific to the third information related to the access category.
