Point to node in a multi-tiered middleware environment
View Patent ↗Systems and methods directing requests to a particular node in a multi-tiered middleware environment are provided. In one embodiment, traffic requests can be dynamically routed to a desired server, and not be load balanced, based on an identification of the client generating the traffic requests.
1. A computer-implemented method comprising:
receiving, at a user cache from at least one load balancer, a request for an indication of a destination server within a server farm to route incoming traffic that has originated from a point to node client;
identifying, by the user cache, a virtual container of the destination server where the incoming traffic from the point to node client should be routed;
receiving, at the user cache, information indicating that the virtual container is out-of-production; and
sending, from the user cache to the at least one load balancer, an indication of the virtual container of the destination server and that the virtual container is out-of-production,
wherein any of the incoming traffic originating from the point to node client is routed to the virtual container of the destination server while other incoming traffic not associated with the point to node client is routed to the at least one load balancer for distribution to other nodes different from the destination server.
2. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , further comprising:
determining an association between the point to node client and the destination server based on a mapping.
3. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , further comprising:
identifying one or more application servers to route the incoming traffic for one or more clients.
4. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , further comprising:
creating an entry in the user cache using an internet protocol address of the point to node client with a query string of hypertext transfer protocol requests.
5. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the point to node client is identified by an internet protocol address and documented in the user cache.
6. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the user cache includes a list of internet protocol addresses with corresponding nodes or target environments.
7. The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the point to node client is identified by an internet protocol address on a list of internet protocol addresses of point to node clients to be routed to an application server in the server farm.
8. A system comprising:
one or more processors; and
one or more memories storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the system to perform a process comprising:
receiving, at a user cache from at least one load balancer, a request for an indication of a destination server within a server farm to route incoming traffic that has originated from a point to node client;
identifying, by the user cache, a virtual container of the destination server where the incoming traffic from the point to node client should be routed;
receiving, at the user cache, information indicating that the virtual container is out-of-production; and
sending, from the user cache to the at least one load balancer, an indication of the virtual container of the destination server and that the virtual container is out-of-production,
wherein any of the incoming traffic originating from the point to node client is routed to the virtual container of the destination server while other incoming traffic not associated with the point to node client is routed to the at least one load balancer for distribution to other nodes different from the destination server.
9. The system according to claim 8 , wherein the process further comprises:
determining an association between the point to node client and the destination server based on a mapping.
10. The system according to claim 8 , wherein the process further comprises:
identifying one or more application servers to route the incoming traffic for one or more clients.
11. The system according to claim 8 , wherein the process further comprises:
creating an entry in the user cache using an internet protocol address of the point to node client with a query string of hypertext transfer protocol requests.
12. The system according to claim 8 , wherein the point to node client is identified by an internet protocol address and documented in the user cache.
13. The system according to claim 8 , wherein the user cache includes a list of internet protocol addresses with corresponding nodes or target environments.
14. The system according to claim 8 , wherein the point to node client is identified by an internet protocol address on a list of internet protocol addresses of point to node clients to be routed to an application server in the server farm.
15. A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing instructions that, when executed by a computing system, cause the computing system to perform operations comprising:
receiving, at a user cache from at least one load balancer, a request for an indication of a destination server within a server farm to route incoming traffic that has originated from a point to node client;
identifying, by the user cache, a virtual container of the destination server where the incoming traffic from the point to node client should be routed;
receiving, at the user cache, information indicating that the virtual container is out-of-production; and
sending, from the user cache to the at least one load balancer, an indication of the virtual container of the destination server and that the virtual container is out-of-production,
wherein any of the incoming traffic originating from the point to node client is routed to the virtual container of the destination server while other incoming traffic not associated with the point to node client is routed to the at least one load balancer for distribution to other nodes different from the destination server.
16. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 15 , wherein the operations further comprise:
determining an association between the point to node client and the destination server based on a mapping.
17. The non-transitory computer-readable medium of claim 15 , wherein the operations further comprise:
identifying one or more application servers to route the incoming traffic for one or more clients.
