Abstract

In the present disclosure, a UE transmits a random access preamble (RAP) on a physical random access channel (PRACH) and a control channel (CCCH) service data unit (SDU) on a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH); and receives a medium access control (MAC) protocol data unit (PDU) based on transmitting the RAP and the CCCH SDU. The MAC PDU includes a first part, and a second part after the first part. The first part includes multiple UE contention resolution identities (UE CRIDs).

Claims (39)

1. A method for performing a random access (RA) procedure by a user equipment (UE) in a wireless communication system, the method comprising:

transmitting a random access preamble (RAP) on a physical random access channel (PRACH) and a control channel (CCCH) service data unit (SDU) on a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH); and

receiving a medium access control (MAC) protocol data unit (PDU) based on transmitting the RAP and the CCCH SDU,

wherein the MAC PDU includes a first part that includes a long UE contention resolution identity (CRID) MAC control element (CE), a second part after the first part, and a MAC subheader for the long UE CRID MAC CE,

wherein the long UE CRID MAC CE includes multiple UE CRIDs for multiple UEs,

wherein the second part includes respective timing advance commands for the multiple UE CRIDs, and

wherein the MAC subheader includes a logical channel identity (LCID) field set to a value representing the long UE CRID MAC CE and a length field set to a value indicating the size of the long UE CRID MAC CE.

2. The method according to claim 1 , further comprising:

determining whether the multiple UE CRIDs include a UE CRID matching the CCCH SDU, and

processing a timing advance command corresponding to the UE CRID based on determining that the multiple UE CRIDs include the UE CRID matching the CCCH SDU.

3. A user equipment (UE) of performing a random access (RA) procedure in a wireless communication system, the UE comprising:

at least one transceiver;

at least one processor; and

at least one computer memory storing instructions which, when executed, cause the at least one processor to perform operations comprising:

transmitting a random access preamble (RAP) on a physical random access channel (PRACH) and a control channel (CCCH) service data unit (SDU) on a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH); and

receiving a medium access control (MAC) protocol data unit (PDU) based on transmitting the RAP and the CCCH SDU,

wherein the MAC PDU includes a first part that includes a long UE contention resolution identity (CRID) MAC control element (CE), a second part after the first part, and a MAC subheader for the long UE CRID MAC CE,

wherein the long UE CRID MAC CE includes multiple UE CRIDs for multiple UEs,

wherein the second part includes respective timing advance commands for the multiple UE CRIDs, and

wherein the MAC subheader includes a logical channel identity (LCID) field set to a value representing the long UE CRID MAC CE and a length field set to a value indicating the size of the long UE CRID MAC CE.

4. The UE according to claim 3 , wherein the operations further comprise:

determining whether the multiple UE CRIDs include a UE CRID matching the CCCH SDU, and

processing a timing advance command corresponding to the UE CRID based on determining that the multiple UE CRIDs include the UE CRID matching the CCCH SDU.

5. A non-transitory computer readable storage medium storing at least one program that include instructions which, when executed, cause the at least one processor to perform operations comprising:

transmitting a random access preamble (RAP) on a physical random access channel (PRACH) and a control channel (CCCH) service data unit (SDU) on a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH); and

receiving a medium access control (MAC) protocol data unit (PDU) based on transmitting the RAP and the CCCH SDU,

wherein the MAC PDU includes a first part that includes a long UE contention resolution identity (CRID) MAC control (CE), a second part after the first part, and a MAC subheader for the long UE CRID MAC CE,

wherein the long UE CRID MAC CE includes multiple UE CRIDs for multiple UEs,

wherein the second part includes respective timing advance commands for the multiple UE CRIDs, and

wherein the MAC subheader includes a logical channel identity (LCID) field set to a value representing the long UE CRID MAC CE and a length field set to a value indicating the size of the long UE CRID MAC CE.

6. A base station (BS) used in a wireless communication system, the BS comprising:

at least one processor, and

at least one computer memory storing instructions which, when executed, cause the at least one processor to perform operations comprising:

receiving a random access preamble (RAP) on a physical random access channel (PRACH) and a control channel (CCCH) service data unit (SDU) on a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH); and

transmitting a medium access control (MAC) protocol data unit (PDU) based on receiving the RAP and the CCCH SDU,

wherein the MAC PDU includes a first part that includes a long UE contention resolution identity (CRID) MAC control element (CE), a second part after the first part, and a MAC subheader for the long UE CRID MAC CE,

wherein the long UE CRID MAC CE includes multiple UE CRIDs for multiple UEs,

wherein the second part includes respective timing advance commands for the multiple UE CRIDs, and

wherein the MAC subheader includes a logical channel identity (LCID) field set to a value representing the long UE CRID MAC CE and a length field set to a value indicating the size of the long UE CRID MAC CE.
