Determining channel statistics for clear channel assessments
Apparatuses, methods, and systems are disclosed for determining channel statistics for clear channel assessments. One method ( 900 ) includes determining ( 902 ), by an apparatus ( 102 ), channel statistics corresponding to a plurality of listen-before-talk channel access types, a plurality of channel access priorities, a plurality of frequency ranges, or some combination thereof. The channel statistics indicate whether clear channel assessments for transmission on a shared resource are successful. The method ( 900 ) includes transmitting ( 904 ) information corresponding to the channel statistics to a network device.
1. A method performed by a user equipment (UE), the method comprising:
receiving, from a base station, a configuration indicating which channel statistics corresponding to listen-before-talk (LBT) failures that occur at the UE are to be reported, and the channel statistics comprises a number of failed channel access attempts that occur at the UE;
determining occurrence of the number of failed channel access attempts at the UE as a result of LBT failures; and
reporting, to the base station, an indication of the channel statistics.
2. The method of claim 1 , further comprising determining the channel statistics based on sensing whether a shared channel is idle or busy.
3. The method of claim 2 , further comprising sensing whether the UE is to perform a transmission on the shared channel.
4. The method of claim 1 , wherein the channel statistics comprise a ratio between a number of idle sensing periods and a total period for sensing.
5. The method of claim 1 , wherein the channel statistics are indicative of a time between a start of a clear channel assessment (CCA) and an end of the CCA, wherein the end of the CCA corresponds to a successful CCA, and wherein the CCA comprises the LBT.
6. The method of claim 1 , wherein the channel statistics comprise a first ratio between a first number of successful channel access attempts and a total number of channel access attempts, a second ratio between a second number of unsuccessful channel access attempts and the total number of channel access attempts, or both.
7. The method of claim 1 , wherein the channel statistics exclude sensing periods, in which the base station is performing transmissions.
8. The method of claim 1 , wherein the indication comprises a first format or a second format different from the first format, and wherein the first format includes a greater amount of information than the second format.
9. The method of claim 1 , wherein, reporting the indication, comprises transmitting the indication to the base station.
10. A user equipment (UE), comprising:
at least one memory; and
at least one processor coupled with the at least one memory and configured to cause the UE to:
receive, from a base station, a configuration indicating which channel statistics corresponding to listen-before-talk (LBT) failures that occur at the UE are to be reported, and the channel statistics comprises a number of failed channel access attempts that occur at the UE;
determine occurrence of the number of failed channel access attempts at the UE as a result of LBT failures; and
report, to the base station, an indication of the channel statistics.
11. The UE of claim 10 , wherein the at least one processor is configured to cause the UE to determine the channel statistics by sensing whether a shared channel is idle or busy.
12. The UE of claim 11 , wherein the at least one processor is configured to cause the UE to sense whether the UE is to perform a transmission on the shared channel.
13. The UE of claim 10 , wherein the channel statistics comprise a ratio between a number of idle sensing periods and a total period for sensing.
14. The UE of claim 10 , wherein the channel statistics is indicative of a time between a start of a clear channel assessment (CCA) and an end of the CCA, wherein the end of the CCA corresponds to a successful CCA, and wherein the CCA comprises an LBT.
15. The UE of claim 10 , wherein the channel statistics comprise a first ratio between a first number of successful channel access attempts and a total number of channel access attempts, a second ratio between a second number of unsuccessful channel access attempts and the total number of channel access attempts, or both.
16. The UE of claim 10 , wherein the channel statistics exclude sensing periods, in which the base station is performing transmissions.
17. The UE of claim 10 , wherein the indication comprises a first format or a second format different from the first format, and wherein the first format includes a greater amount of information than the second format.
18. The UE of claim 10 , wherein, to report the indication, the at least one processor is configured to cause the UE to transmit the indication to the base station.
