Abstract

A first apparatus including: a processor; a memory; and communication circuitry. The first apparatus is connected to a communications network via the communication circuitry. The first apparatus further includes computer-executable instructions stored in the memory which, when executed by the processor, causes the first apparatus to: discover a second apparatus that the first apparatus can communicate with; obtain device information related to the second apparatus; and configure a radio protocol of the first apparatus for direct sidelink communication with the second apparatus.

configure a radio protocol of the first WTRU for direct sidelink V2X communication with the second WTRU over the PC5 interface using PC5 radio resource control (RRC) signaling, wherein the PC5 interface comprises one or more unicast links between the first WTRU and the second WTRU that allows for communication between one or more pairs of peer services of the first WTRU and the second WTRU, wherein each of the one or more unicast links supports one or more service types and the one or more service types are at least associated with a pair of peer applications for the unicast link.

2. The first WTRU of claim 1 , wherein the processor and the memory are further configured to: send, to the second WTRU, a request for the device information related to the second WTRU.

3. The first WTRU of claim 2 , wherein the processor and the memory are further configured to:

receive a response to the request for the device information related to the second WTRU, wherein the response comprises the device information related to the second WTRU.

4. The first WTRU of claim 3 , wherein the device information related to the second WTRU comprises one or more of: a device capability, a quality of service (QoS) configuration parameter of V2X communication, and a sidelink measurement.

5. The first WTRU of claim 1 , wherein the processor and the memory are further configured to:

determine radio protocol configuration parameters of the first WTRU, and determine radio protocol configuration parameters of the second WTRU, wherein the determination of the radio protocol configuration parameters of the second WTRU comprises at least one of the device information related to the second WTRU or the device information related to the WTRU and the device information related to the first WTRU.

6. The first WTRU of claim 5 , wherein the processor and the memory are further configured to:

request from a third WTRU, the radio protocol configuration parameters of the first WTRU and the radio protocol configuration parameters of the WTRU; and

receive, from the third WTRU, the radio protocol configuration parameters of the first WTRU and the radio protocol configuration parameters of the WTRU.

7. The first WTRU of claim 5 , wherein the processor and the memory are further configured to:

send information indicating the determined radio protocol configuration parameters of the WTRU to the WTRU.

8. The first WTRU of claim 7 , wherein the information indicating the determined radio protocol configuration parameters of the WTRU cause the WTRU to configure a radio protocol associated with the WTRU.

9. The first WTRU of claim 1 , wherein the processor and the memory are further configured to:

send, to the WTRU, device information related to the first WTRU.

10. The first WTRU of claim 9 , wherein the device information related to the first WTRU includes comprises one or more of: a device capability, a quality of service (QoS) configuration parameter of V2X communication, and a sidelink measurement.

11. The first WTRU of claim 5 , wherein a PC5 interface allows communication between the first WTRU and the third WTRU or a PC5 interface allows communication between the WTRU and the WTRU apparatus, and

wherein PC5 RRC signaling or PC5-S signaling is used over the PC5 interface.

12. The first WTRU of claim 1 , wherein the radio protocol comprises a service data adaptation protocol (SDAP) layer, a packet data convergence protocol (PDCP) layer, a radio link control (RLC) layer, a medium access control (MAC) layer, and a physical (PHY) layer.

13. The first WTRU of claim 1 , wherein the first WTRU or the WTRU is a vehicle.

14. The first WTRU of claim 1 , wherein the processor and the memory are further configured to:

transmit, by a transceiver, data from the first WTRU to the WTRU.

15. The first WTRU of claim 6 , wherein the third WTRU is a road side unit, a base station, a relay node, a vehicle, or an integrated access and backhaul unit.

16. A method implemented by a first wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU), the method comprising:

discovering a WTRU that the first WTRU can communicate with, the first WTRU configured to conduct vehicle-to-everything (V2X) communication via a PC5 interface that allows communication between the first WTRU and the WTRU;

obtaining device information related to the WTRU; and

configuring a radio protocol of the first WTRU for direct sidelink V2X communication with the WTRU over the PC5 interface using PC5 radio resource control (RRC) signaling, wherein the PC5 interface comprises one or more unicast links between the first WTRU and the WTRU that allows for communication between one or more pairs of peer services of the first WTRU and the WTRU, wherein each of the one or more unicast links supports one or more service types and the one or more service types are at least associated with a pair of peer applications for the unicast link.
