Abstract

Claims (38)

1. A method for implementing digital image processing of a digital image, comprising:

receiving, with a server computer, an access request to access the server computer from a mobile device;

obtaining, with the server computer, according to an authentication process, a digital certificate assigned to the mobile device;

validating, with the server computer, according to the authentication process, the mobile device based on the digital certificate;

remotely controlling, with the server computer, according to the authentication process, the mobile device to cause an imaging device of the mobile device to capture the digital image when the mobile device is validated based on the digital certificate;

receiving, with the server computer, the digital image captured of a document and positioning metadata associated with the mobile device;

extracting, with the server computer, deposit information from the digital image;

determining, with the server computer, whether to restrict at least one of a deposit amount or an availability of a deposit based on the deposit information extracted from the digital image and the positioning metadata associated with the mobile device; and

transmitting a notification to the mobile device, with the server computer, the notification indicating a restriction on at least one of the deposit amount or the availability of a deposit based on a location of the mobile device.

2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the positioning metadata comprises GPS metadata.

The method of claim 1 , wherein determining, with the server computer, whether to restrict at least one of the deposit amount or the availability of the deposit based on the deposit information extracted from the digital image and the positioning metadata associated with the mobile device comprises:

determining to restrict an availability of the deposit based on the positioning metadata indicating that the mobile device is outside a defined geographic area.

4. The method of claim 1 , wherein extracting, with the server computer, the deposit information from the digital image comprises:

processing, with the server computer, the received digital image to generate an enhanced digital image; and

extracting, with the server computer, the deposit information from the enhanced digital image.

5. The method of claim 1 , wherein the mobile device communicates with the server computer over a cellular communication network.

6. The method of claim 1 , wherein the imaging device is a camera.

7. The method of claim 1 , wherein the mobile device is a cellular phone.

8. A server configured to implement digital image processing of a digital image, the server comprising:

a memory;

a processor in communication with the memory, the processor configured to execute instructions stored in the memory and to perform acts of:

receive an access request to access the server from a mobile device;

obtain, according to an authentication process, a digital certificate assigned to the mobile device;

validate, according to the authentication process, the mobile device based on the digital certificate;

remotely control, according to the authentication process, the mobile device to cause an imaging device of the mobile device to capture the digital image when the mobile device is validated based on the digital certificate;

receive the digital image captured of a document and positioning metadata associated with the mobile device;

extract deposit information from the digital image;

determine whether to restrict at least one of a deposit amount or an availability of a deposit based on the deposit information extracted from the digital image and the positioning metadata associated with the mobile device; and

transmit a notification to the mobile device, the notification indicating a restriction on at least one of the deposit amount or the availability of a deposit based on a location of the mobile device.

9. The server of claim 8 , wherein the positioning metadata comprises GPS metadata.

The server of claim 8 , wherein to determine whether to restrict at least one of the deposit amount or the availability of the deposit based on the deposit information extracted from the digital image and the positioning metadata associated with the mobile device, the processor is configured to:

determine to restrict an availability of the deposit based on the positioning metadata indicating that the mobile device is outside a defined geographic area.

11. The server of claim 8 , where to extract the deposit information from the digital image, the processor is configured to:

process the received digital image to generate an enhanced digital image; and

extract the deposit information from the enhanced digital image.

12. The server of claim 8 , wherein the mobile device communicates with the server over a cellular communication network.

13. The server of claim 8 , wherein the imaging device is a camera.

14. The server of claim 8 , wherein the mobile device is a cellular phone.
